Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 29, 2015 8:06 pm Hi all, About to to final walkthrough of our not so fun build with JG King in coming weeks and want to hit them with an Independent Plumbing inspector along with current independent building inspector. Unfortunatley I have been unable to locate any at all. Has anyone done this before and if so have reccomendations? Thanks! Re: Independent Plumbing Inspector Reccomendations 2Aug 30, 2015 12:12 am Why just plumbing? Just before handover, there isn't much to test that you can't do yourself. Turn on all taps, fill up basin or bath and then flush the water down the sink/bath to test for leaks. Make sure the water in showers doesn't pool or leak outside shower screen. Flush toilets a few times, make sure the cistern fills up. Re: Independent Plumbing Inspector Reccomendations 3Aug 30, 2015 3:36 pm Hi JB the plumbing inspector will be additional to our independent building inspector. We are having water pressure issues. 11 seconds to fill 9l bucket at first tap at meter, 27 seconds at first outdoor tap at house and 42 seconds at last outdoor tap. Also have a charged stormwater system with no inspection outlets Re: Independent Plumbing Inspector Reccomendations 4Aug 30, 2015 10:54 pm You don't need a plumbing inspector. There's a problem, ask them to fix it. What did your builder say about the water pressure (flow)? I'll call the plumbing commission (in Vic) and ask them to have a look. It should be a free service. I would send it to the certifier who is technically your representative and working on your behalf not the builder's 1 2267 That is a really good attitude Akin to you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I do enjoy watching that tik tok inspector from Victoria but he does go a little… 12 81884 It is true that a builder can ignore your independent inspection report as it is not part of the contractual arrangement but that is stupid because he cannot avoid fixing… 9 46854 |
