My wife and I were in a similar position, though in our case I preferred the sahara and she preferred the vouge (happy wife, happy life as they say .
Our total cost came to about $320k. We included a far few upgrades and extra's though. Some of the most expensive extras were timber bifolds on both sides of the alfresco (in place of the windows and slider that were in the base plan). Brick and tile upgrades. Appliance upgrades and a few other general bits and pieces. Also our site costs were fixed to roughly $7k.
I hope some of this info helps and as I said previously I will endeavour to update my build thread with some internal pics in the coming weeks.
