Quick question for anyone who has been through a recent tile selection with Metricon. We have been underwhelmed by Metricon's tile selection at their Bella Vista showroom. Will they let you source tiles independently? I know they used to have a supply arrangement with Di Lorenzo which they terminated a while back. @Vista, I recall you getting caught in the middle of the change. Under their current arrangements, wondering if anyone here has managed to convince M to allow independent sourcing. Thanks! ...and big congrats to Vista on a stunning (almost) finished product Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 1182Dec 20, 2016 7:21 am jmet Morning! I'm pretty sure they won't allow you to source the tiles externally. You can do the main flooring after handover but bathrooms you can not as it had to be finished off for interim OC. @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 1184Dec 20, 2016 7:33 am jmet Morning! If however you have a specific tile in mind and they don't have it you can try and get them to get it ..... I did but i paid for it in a big way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My ensuite floor and two walls in the tile I wanted costed me 7k... but I really wanted the tile. Anyways you might be able to get them to get it. Just depends how badly you want something they don't have. Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 1185Dec 20, 2016 7:38 am jmet Thanks Orph. No, we haven't. So National Tiles is M's current tile supplier? ie we can choose anything from the National Tiles range? Yup, NT will allow you to select whatever they have on their website. @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 1187Dec 20, 2016 1:04 pm jmet Thanks NthHome and Orph. We're getting a comprehensive fault list together this weekend and then can add them to our post handover database. Few little issues, leaky fridge water inlet, lights in eaves not working, some sealant missing etc etc. Overall very pleased with the build. I've spent the past fortnight doing lots of DIY, installing TVs on walls, commissioning a server rack and terminating all my data cables (40!). Still lots to do but I need a break! If price wasn't an issue then I would use the Somfy motors. Somfy also have an Internet gateway so you can control and program the motors through their App. I've gone with Wynstan motors as they are half the price plus they can be programmed too. @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 1197Jan 30, 2017 4:54 pm Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 1198Jan 30, 2017 5:07 pm That's a lot of cement @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 1199Jan 30, 2017 7:14 pm Hi Vista, what is the block that you used for that retaining wall?
