Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 13, 2014 8:45 am Hello All - I spent a bit of time reading peoples Blogs before deciding on a builder of choice. As its our first home , we wanted to be sure that we were choosing the right builder for us. So we chose Celebrations Homes. They came highly recommended by our family . We signed and paid our deposit . The design was not quite what we wanted , so we attempted to make changes only to find out we could only make 1 structural change and most things needed an upgrade e.g. tiles , taps etc. After evaluating the costs we decided to look at HGWA and they actually came in cheaper as there was not much that needed upgrading . So we are attempting to get our deposit refunded from Cele's as we only signed 3 days ago. We have decided to build with HGWA. Anyone out there have a similar experience and can offer advice? Re: Building our First home with HGWA 2Jan 27, 2015 10:01 am Hi Step 1 we are also building with HGWA but we had originally signed up with Blueprint ( who are apart of HGWA ) but decided against building with them for various reasons so asked them to refund our deposit. Luckily Blueprint were very amicable and gave us it back. : ) Re: Building our First home with HGWA 3Aug 23, 2015 8:17 pm We nearly went with Celebrations and they were very clear on the fact you could only make one structural change to plans etc... We did not sign up though just went over a few ideas and plans with a sales girl. We decided to go with Blueprint as the inclusions were better and we could make the changes we wanted to. Good luck hope you get deposit back. If the eaves are fixed first, the eaves line is about 250 mm below the top plate of wall frame. If the cladding ie hebel stops just under the eave line, then that means… 2 48468 Thanks a lot Simeon. That's a good pickup. I will definitely ask my SS when we meet him. 21 18230 |
