Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 19, 2015 10:58 pm A few bricks, roof tiles, excess floor tiles and tins of paint left on site by builder. Is it my responsibility to clear these now that we already made the final payment? If so, where can I dispose these materials? We are in Officer, Victoria. Re: Whose responsibility to remove leftovers? 2Aug 20, 2015 8:48 am these are spares, and you want to keep them. Trust me, they're doing you a favour. You may spring a leak in the roof, and its always great if it can be fixed when you call a tradie in. Most roof tilers don't have stock out the back waiting to be used to fix leaks. The paint will be needed when you have your 3 or 6 month warranty and they come around and fill in caps and cracks etc, plus if you put a hole in the wall moving stuff around, you want to be able to patch it and paint it without needing to buy a whole tin of paint. Tile runs at the manufacture discontinue about as regularly as sneakers, so you def want spare. Imagine you crack a tile by dropping something on it in 1 years time and they cant match the tile for replacement. Bricks are good to keep around too just in case. Just stack all this stuff somewhere out of the way. I guarantee you that before the year is out, yo'll be using some of those items. Re: Whose responsibility to remove leftovers? 3Aug 20, 2015 10:02 am Definitely good advice there Ponzu. Stack the tiles and bricks out of the way and forget about them. I have a gap between my back fence and garage where I will put a little leaning cover to store these types of items. Re: Whose responsibility to remove leftovers? 4Aug 20, 2015 10:21 am AussieMark, I hope youre not leaving the paint tins out there. Might not last long. Wally97, keep your paint tins under the sink in the laundry. Most out of the way place in most houses. Youll never know theyre there but remember that they are when you need it. Otherwise a small lean to/humpy like AussieMark described should do the job if you dont have room in the garage. The conduit needs to be able to have fibre run through it. NBN and Opticomm are just… 4 2881 How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5933 |
