The volume builder we have just received a contract from has said no to many standard things that we have had to fight for and they have declined installing these toilets for no real reason other that their own personal preferences. Does the builder have a case? We are spending a lot of money, as is anyone building a home, so to be told 'no' every step of the way is getting frustrating. I'd tell them where to go and get a different builder. When I was first looking for a builder here I went to the one that sticks their signs up on the block for a home and land deal, and wanted things like worm farm treatment plant versus their standard HSTP, wanted to organise my own earthmover for the house pad and driveway, amongst other things. They told me they will not allow the worm farm treatment plant, and tried to make me think that only their own earthmoving subbie would do the house pad to their requirements. On top of the pricing they were going to charge for standard things such as water tank ($11,000 versus $4750 I paid or $6750 if Taylex installed it for me), was just ridiculous. Anyway in the end I just got fed up with them, and started looking at different builders, and finally went owner builder. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld.
