Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 17, 2015 11:04 pm Hi, we are first home buyers and about to build in the Harpley stage 6. We did our initial run down with the volume builders and got some initial quotes from them. I wanted to know if there is a room to negotiate on the quote amount. Each builder has thrown in some standard packages/ upgrades. What I am looking is to ask for a discount on the overall price. Any experience to share? Re: Volume builders price negotiations 2Aug 17, 2015 11:11 pm Not sure if you will get the price change, but worth a try. The alternate is to push them to included things. We got a couple of things for 'free' but really they add it all into their margins. Once you have paid a initial deposit with the builder you'll struggle to get them to change the price. Even try play a couple off each other, it really just depends on how much they want your business. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Volume builders price negotiations 3Aug 17, 2015 11:54 pm We were offered an initial discount of $1200 on almost a 300K house. We have not paid the initial deposit as yet but the builder was adamant that she can go any further regardless if we build with them or not. Also, possibility of including an upgrade out of the standard offering was ruled out. At the first instance, I feel happy that I wont pay more if the prices are really fixed and the sales guys have no power to negotiate. But on a second thought, who does not want to save some $$'s go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110560 Hi, Seeking volume or semi-custom builder in victoria(east), which have existing double story wide floor plans.
