Today we signed up with Ventura to build the Cowaramup Lodge on our 5 acres NE of Perth. We know its gonna be a while before much else happens but I thought I would get on here so we can share and blog our building process. For now all we have is our plan which has some minor changes but is mostly correct. We cant wait to get started and watch our dream home grow. For now, all we can do is stare at our plans and wait... It is rather big but we've got 3 teens and a baby and after years squeezed into a 4 x 2 which is half the floor size its about time we had some room to get away from each other lol. The only downfall is the activitiy room. It isnt as big as the entertainment room in the faversham but its bigger than our lounge room ATM so Im ok with it. I am really happy about the WIL though. By having that it will mean we have a WIR that is solely for our clothes (which I dont have much of anyway because im a dag lol). I think because we have lived without much storage space for so long we are seriously overcompensating. I figure better to have too much than too little Im gald you all like it. I cant wait to get started. Now all I can think of is colours. I have to be careful not to rear end peopel coz Im always gawking at peoples roofs and wonder what colour colourbond it is. ironstone/monument/woodland grey?? I dont know Kerry-ann- you must be so excited about prestart! I cant wait to watch your house go up. Re: and so it begins... 16Jul 03, 2011 1:40 am they are so tricky to work out those colorbond colours. they change so much in the light. We were looking at all the blue ones at one stage but then discovered the blue we liked the best was actually ironstone not blue at all. Re: and so it begins... 17Jul 03, 2011 12:47 pm You are so right KK,some throw off green, grey & a deep moroon (spell check) colour which is the loft,i liked it untill i saw a roof in that colour. JuJuB,the only thing i can suggest is type in the colours you like in the search box, that will bring up members build with that colour roof. I am excited but i'm also starting to poop myself Block bought 1st RBC X! 2nd Ventrua,Keeper! LOVE YOUR PLANS, I KNEW WHEN I EVENTUALLY SAW THEM, THERE WOULD BE SOMETHING I SHOULD HAVE DONE. HA HA THE GARAGE IS TOPS, AND THE KITCHEN IS AWESOME, WISH I HAD DONE THE SAME. HAVE YOU BEEN GIVEN A PRE START DATE YET? ANY COLOURS IN MIND? Re: and so it begins... 19Jul 04, 2011 3:38 pm Great plan I liked Ventura's plans, pity they don't build in vic Re: and so it begins... 20Jul 04, 2011 5:39 pm Colours!?! Do they have a pulling out your hair smilie? Im stuck on the roof colour. God help me when it comes to tiles and cupboards! Thankfully my 14 year old daughter has a good eye wiht colour so while Dh says the usual 'whatever' ( ) she'll help me. -at least that way if it looks stink I can share the blame with her lol I recently went through a similar renovation and move scenario when updating our family home.
