Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 10, 2015 9:52 am Just had our soil tests back and we are stoked. Its an 'M'. Crazy subdivision, only 40 blocks and of the ones we've spoken to the tests have come back 'H1', 'S', 'P' and ours at an 'M'. But the report does say '0.9 Auger refusal on weathered sandstone' test depth 1.5m. Thats on both boreholes. So does that mean theres a huge rock under our block? Does the piering and plumbing go down that far? Re: How Far Does The Piering and Plumbing Go Down? 2Aug 10, 2015 7:41 pm Yes it sounds like a layer of rock underneath. If you do need piers it would be down to 1.5 although with a class M I wouldn't think piers will be required. The plumbing shuld be less than 1.00m deep. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Spoke to our builders yesterday about what needs to be done as the block is sloped. There will be some fill under one corner of the house to level out the building platform and a little bit of piering in that area and that the house will be supported by the piers not the fill. But they also said that although there is obviously a large piece of weathered sandstone at 1.5m this is a really good thing. The OP has gone The latch and striker are definitely not aligned but there was no point trying to help the OP understand that. Hence the reason they are no longer with us. 12 5678 If there have been changes, variations, during construction then the drawings should be revised, the building permit amended and the current, as built drawings given to… 2 4480 In my experience roof is essential element of the building envelope and hence a common property and should be covered by owners corporation however a detailed review of… 3 6168 |
