Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 08, 2008 4:58 pm Hi,
My original plans for 225 square metres cost $250,000. Due to the council the builder had to reduce the house size by 9 square metres. I asked what variation I would be getting and was told only $3,000. Does this seem a right amount? thanks Re: Variation Costs 5Jul 09, 2008 7:00 pm We had to cut our house by about 20 sqm. We are paying about $780 per sqm, but instead we only getting back at $350 per sqm.
Is this fair? the builder claim to deduct off GST and labour, but when we ask to add new thing, they charge a full price! And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Re: Variation Costs 6Jul 10, 2008 2:28 pm No, it's not really terribly fair. But, that's what they do:)
Greg Re: Variation Costs 7Jul 14, 2008 10:10 am Yeah I agreed. We managed to get a couple of things in lieu of the changes instead (extension of the Media room) at the end of the day, we are happy with the plan and we happy they allow us to make the changes (not like some big project builder). And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15265 Looking for advice on whether this variation in tile colour is acceptable. The large tile on the left was used in my main bathroom renovation 1 year ago. My ensuite… 0 8489 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5322 |
