They only gave me stuff with shadows/lines etc everywhere lol Re: Metricon - Duxton 39 1082Mar 02, 2017 8:37 pm I'm sure it will look nothing like this haha!! We used bamboo at our last place as well. We are doing the same with this place. A pity we didn't get to stick around long enough for it to become a screening plant lol Second Build, this time with Carlisle 2016, can't wait! For staining you need to upgrade ($1k per beam) the hardwood timber so it can be stained I think. It was too expensive for us. The other method to get the same l look is to paint it a colour close to the stain colour you want. Notice also the timber is layered and there have been complaints about it cracking/splitting. @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Metricon - Duxton 39 1092Mar 03, 2017 9:21 pm Orpheus Negative, those beams can not be stained as its a pine timber (layered). We're happy with progress So we're in for a busy 2 weeks. Scaffolding comes back, bricklayers can complete balcony, plastering finishes and stairs to be installed cabinetry installed next week then framers come back then the painting starts External Cladding begins and rendering and painting starts. Be interesting to see the timeframe on how long externals take. So lots of fun ahead in the Month of March. We can have all the left over bricks for landscaping, so that will be fun Taking them to the back. Hire a forklift??
