Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 04, 2015 12:22 am Hi everyone, have recently became addicted to this forum, and have just joined up. It's so exciting seeing everyone's progress. We have just signed papers for a 1.5000ha block in Dandalup estate, but titles aren't released until about Feb next year. Kind of gives us time about what we are going to do, as we deffinitely don't want to be paying two mortgages. Do we live in hubby's massive shed on our block while we build, or move in with the parentals? Arghhhhhh so hard. Re: Dandalup Estate 7Aug 06, 2015 11:57 pm We originally looked at building the Ferguson, great design. Re: Dandalup Estate 9Aug 11, 2015 9:50 pm LOVE your design, looks so spacious! Look forward to following and seeing it all come together Re: Dandalup Estate 11Aug 11, 2015 10:54 pm Clarity of pricing and budget management. We made a number of changes and up specked the design. The price grew almost exponentially. We tried to get clarity of pricing so we could take things in and out to manage our budget, but it wasn't "able to be provided" The reps were great about it, we got our deposit back and went on our merry way. No hard feelings to RNH that's for sure. In the end we used a building broker and had excellent clarity in pricing and were able to manage our budget a lot easier. We have just done the same to see what we could and couldn't fit in our budget. It amazes me where they just pull prices from. We have just got a rough estimate back for our changes and the price jumped a fair way up too. It went from $292,00 to $360,000. They want $5,000 for the area loading fee, which I will be challenging. Thanks heaps for your feedback. Much appreciated. We thought this would give us a better chance at saving while we wait for titles etc on the block. We also have started looking at a few other builders with more inclusions. Re: Dandalup Estate 17Sep 01, 2015 6:22 pm What an exciting step, great that you can move in to save! Hopefully you can find the right builder Re: Dandalup Estate 18Sep 01, 2015 9:09 pm ak11 Great design and wow to the size of your block! Can't wait to see it all come together Deffinitely a big block, wish it was a tad bigger lol, but a bit out of our price range. I can't wait either..... |
