Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 30, 2015 1:48 pm Hey guys, so lucky to find this forum. I am signing a home-land package in Truganina. I have paid $1500 to Allura estate as land deposit and $1500 for HBC for building deposit. I am wondering anyone knows where these deposits have been held with? Cos my friend told the deposit should be held by an independent trust but not the builder/estate themselves. Also, anyone can give me some suggestions re good but affordable conveyancer who has got valuable experience in terms of home-land packages? Any answer would be much appreciated;) Thanks, Sabrina Re: converyancer and deposit questions, needs help:) 2Jul 30, 2015 5:22 pm I don't really know what your friend means. I paid my deposits direct to land sales office and builder. I had one builder refund me the holding deposit when I chose not to go ahead. Sorry can't help with conveyancer I'm on the other side of the city. My broker may a recommendation to me for a conveyancer, maybe ask your broker. Re: converyancer and deposit questions, needs help:) 3Jul 30, 2015 6:41 pm Hi, I think it depends on whether the builder or developer is using a real estate agent to deal with the buyer. In our case we paid our deposit to the agent acting for the land developer but directly to the builder for the house. For real estate transactions involving land with an existing house then in most cases the deposit is paid to the selling agent. Cheers, Logician BLOG : http://balwyn196.blogspot.com.au In NSW the maximum deposit for building work is 5% until the builder provides HBCF insurance 1 4831 Thanks for that! Yeah, I was thinking timber front door. 10 21659 4 11221 |
