Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Recommendations for a Landscaper - Make my home like a 2Jul 29, 2015 2:28 pm I found one that has done a number of Display Homes - but I wouldn't recommend them. If you haven't started calling around yet, let me give you the benefit of all my research: - You need someone to design the space, and then someone to physically make it happen - finding someone who does both is going to be difficult. - Designing fees vary from $1000-$4000, and often come with 2D and 3D walkthroughs. That price does not include "working drawings" - it's just a conceptual plan - you couldn't take it to a landscaper to implement, as it lacks any real detail. - If you find a good landscaper they can try to take your ideas and make them a reality - but again - they're not usually designers, but implementers. This will save you money - but you might not get the "designer" finish you were hoping for. In terms of hard landscaping costs, we're looking at putting in: - 6ft high timber front fence - exposed aggregate path around the house - retaining walls on either side of the house (land slopes slightly from right to left). The above is going to be around 45K. We're expecting another 45K for the remainder. Our block is 650sqm - so not exactly huge either. From every single landscaper architect I've spoken with - they all said 80-120K would be the ballpark for our land size without going for a real modern/designer look. Good luck!
