Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 28, 2015 4:25 pm Hi guys, Im about to build my first house in Australia. Everything is set and ready to start when the soil test and building permit approved. Im just curious when should I contact landscape gardener to do the gardern and fences, and auto gate. Can I ask them to do it while my our is 80% done (the exterior is done while they are doing the interior). will the builder allow me to do that? OR I MUST do it after hand over. Also, could someone recommend any good/skilled gardener for me as I have no ideas atm. My house is in Bulleen, Eastern suburb of Vic. Thanks a lot. Minh Re: When to do the landscape gardening, fencing, auto gate? 2Jul 28, 2015 5:39 pm My site supervisor told me to organize the fencing as soon as the roof went on. I'm not sure on the landscaping part but I don't think it should be a problem as long as the paving has all been done Re: When to do the landscape gardening, fencing, auto gate? 3Jul 28, 2015 7:57 pm It will depend on the builder. Most standard contracts give them complete control of the site until they are done. So they get to decide who works onsite or not. A lot of builders are willing to be flexible though, either officially or unofficially. Re: When to do the landscape gardening, fencing, auto gate? 4Jul 29, 2015 11:02 am Is it a hinged gate or automatic sliding gate? If the latter then you need to have a channel in the driveway slab at the time of pour. Otherwise you can end up with a rail just screwed to the surface of the concrete - not real pretty. Also where the power point etc is going to be installed for the motor. Talk to the builder about it. Stewie Looking for some advice on pool surround planting.
