We had an issue with foxtel installation lately and the only option avaialble in our street was getting satellite pay TV instead of cable. Vaccaro assured our street has foxtel cable TV but it wasn't correct. We had issues whereby satellite TV needs 2 coax cables but luckily we provisioned 2 cables (1 for foxtel and 2nd one as a spare). Lucky we did. Just be careful with doing landscaping during the house build as there will be machinery onsite for landscaping whoch might get in the way or cause damages and you might run into a bother about responsibility when something happens. Cheers mate, we don't have cable in our street so will be an interesting conversation to see if varraco have made that an issue for me. When you say you have two coax cables what do you mean? I've got a free to air/tv point and a pay tv point at each location I want a tv..... would that work? Foxtel will need to install another separate cable to be the lead into your house so it all depends on where the satellite dish is located and where your pay-TV services is distributed. If you are getting the foxtel IQ2 or IQ3 set top boxes for HD channels (it's worth it) then your cabling requires 2 coax cables. If you have only 1 cable then foxtel might need to drill holes in your house to install and run the second cable for the satellite dish. In the end, we didn't proceed with foxtel satellite paytv but went with Optus instead as they had cable services in our street and could supply both cable Internet and foxtel cable TV using 1 coax cable. Did u clear things up or confused you? Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 484Jun 15, 2017 2:25 pm Orpheus NRyde Glendale37+ Orpheus Yes pictures please! We live in the old house before we knock it down and I'm sure that we had the two cable coax and didn't have Optus cable available. Seems like my options will be: 1) get M/vaccaro to run the extra cables! Whether two way or three way, I guess our installers knew this little trick Yeah I think that's an easier setup. What we want is all LED backlights for that light to be "on" if the light is off only - regardless of which switch is used to switch the light on. Is that what you have? Basically all backlights on all the time? Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 492Jun 18, 2017 5:31 pm Just don't seem to be able to catch a break with our house. 1/2 step forward three steps back!!! Had trades on site fitting off door handles, but they didn't actually finish doing them all (1/2 step forward) but.... Having waited over three weeks for the replacement door handles, wrong ones have been delivered/ordered!!! SM is adamant that he has got them right, after a few more phone calls and website checks it's down to me to accept replace direct from the supplier post handover or they stop work as "I've got three tradesmen on site waiting around to work out what to do"!!! like that's my issue. To add insult to injury: all the internal linen doors have the wrong handle and the doors are now likely to need reordering! Not a surprise as one of the trades I spoke to had said his instructions were "just installed the handles where you think it's logical". And finally, At least two of our bedroom doors have gaps of at least 30-50mm across the bottom. Looking forward to another fun week of 'conversation' with our SM, CM and AM! Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 494Jun 19, 2017 2:37 pm Ok folks input needed: on our ground floor, right next to the front entry door we changed up our formal living into what will be our guest room - it has its own access to the powder room which has a shower in it. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The double doors are the Hume lin1 similar to below. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ during selection both the handles on these doors have been selected as passage lever set, which isn't going to work because there's nowhere for them both to latch to! So options are: 1) Have both handles as dummy handles and have the doors held in place by magnetic catches at the top? 2) have one door bolted top and bottom and held in place 90% of the time with a dummy handle and other door to have a full passage lever set latching into the bolted door? 3) something I've not thought about 4) just knock is all down and start again! Would love to hear what other people have done or what people recall from the display homes. Thank you all.
