Did we make the right decision? I sooooo would have loved it but trying to tell myself the wait is worth it. You were right to wait. Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 62Dec 30, 2015 4:02 am Bjhf Landscaping week this week! Fences are in, gates tomorrow, gardens mostly done, next is turf. I still can't decide between Empire Zoysia or good old couch. And if we do couch wintergreen or blue. Tough decisions... I still prefer sir Walter I had it in last house. Only reason I didn't have it this time was too much land to fill but I really wish I did. I literally had no weed maintence at all it grew fast and thick and never had any weed problems. My current mix of couches have so much weed I hate it. Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 63Dec 31, 2015 6:18 am How long did you have it MrBee? I've been scared off Sir Walter because last time I had it and it was beautiful for the first couple of years but after that went all crunchy no matter how much care and water gave it. I must have been doing something wrong. Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 64Dec 31, 2015 8:47 am Our builder has been really kind and allowed us access over the shut-down period to move some of our furniture and bigger items into the house. We are so grateful as it will mean when it is handover time things will be so much easier. Last night we camped out for the first time, the kids loved their new bedrooms and we were all ready for our 6am soil delivery Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 65Dec 31, 2015 9:26 am Some photos at night Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Stairs Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Pendants over stairs Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kitchen Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Upstairs living Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Study Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Laundry Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Powder room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Downstairs living Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Outside Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 66Jan 12, 2016 9:47 am Sorry for the delayed reply bjhf, love the photos they all look stunning the stair case is just beautiful such a stunning feature. The built in cabinetry to the study is awesome. How is everything going now? Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 67Jan 13, 2016 3:39 pm Thanks Tribe. We're nearly there! Deck in the alfresco area went down this week, as well as a small deck on the front porch. Now just need a hot water system and security screens and we'll be in. Hopefully that may happen in the next couple of days and we can be in before our big girl starts prep! Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 68Jan 13, 2016 4:17 pm Wow it's looking fantastic and I must say its finished probably the best I've seen from that builder looks like they really looked after you Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 69Jan 13, 2016 4:19 pm Bjhf How long did you have it MrBee? I've been scared off Sir Walter because last time I had it and it was beautiful for the first couple of years but after that went all crunchy no matter how much care and water gave it. I must have been doing something wrong. I only had it 3 yrs but it's now 5yrs old and looking fine. I did spend a lot of time nurturing it though regularly seaweed feeding and high nitrogen fertilising every 2-3 months. It was thirsty too I found if didn't rain would dry and crisp up but even when it crisped up a good down pour would bring it back to life. I would use it again if it didn't cost so much. Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 70Jan 13, 2016 4:33 pm Oh your getting so close bjhf, have you got any pics of our alfresco deck? We are trying to decided what to do with ours??? Tile, epoxy resign or decking. Crossing fingers the plumber is back soon for your hot water and the screen man isn't far away. Ohh cute good luck with prep, it's such a huge milestone Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 71Jan 13, 2016 4:38 pm If you do tiles go with a dark colour. Outdoor tiles are such a pain to keep clean, we had white ones at our old house and they drove me up the wall. Photos coming in a sec Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 72Jan 13, 2016 4:40 pm Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 73Jan 13, 2016 4:43 pm As you look from outside to inside the dining room is through the glass doors on the left and the living room through the glass doors on the right. The kitchen is in the corner of the L shape. Really looking forward to opening everything up for inside/outside entertaining Re: Our new home in Brisbane's north 74Jan 13, 2016 10:11 pm Do you think dark outdoor tiles would get really hot? We have all day sun to our alfresco? I just showed hubby your decking and he loves it. I do too, maybe we will deck ours too your looks sensational.
