Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 23, 2015 12:30 pm Hi Guys
Ive just created an account on here even though I have been following most peoples builds over the last few months. We are pretty close to signing up with HGWA and weve got a block of land ready to go in Burns beach. Is anyone able to give me costings for tile upgrades they did? were looking at bathrooms floor and wall tiles until 450mmx450mm? Ill attach our plans also- any feedback would be great. Thanks Mon Re: HGWA build in Burns Beach 2Jul 23, 2015 12:33 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅
Its actually 4 bedrooms but due to Burns beach requirements we need a 4sqm store so weve named one of the bedrooms a 'store" Any advice would be great! Weve pretty much added in all the upgrades already. Thanks Mon Welcome to the forum, following your build. Depending on the type of tile ie rectified costs more to lay, from memory i think your allowance is $45 per square meter. Re: HGWA build in Burns Beach 6Aug 09, 2015 1:00 am Good luck with your build, we are not far from you, one street away. Re: HGWA build in Burns Beach 8Aug 12, 2015 7:32 pm Following your build! Love your kitchen, scullery and laundry set up! How strange that you have to have a store room! Re: HGWA build in Burns Beach 9Aug 12, 2015 8:41 pm Thanks MaccaPacca- burns beach requirements need you to have a 4sqm store room (usually in the garage) but coz we needed to maximise the size of the house- home group were cheeky and named one of our bedrooms a "storeroom" just to get it through council. Fingers crossed it doesn't get rejected- they've done this before so I hope it's not a problem! Can't wait to finally start! We're doing a mini pre start tomorrow to get the rest of the coatings in as we need to add it into the loan amount. Mon Re: HGWA build in Burns Beach 10Aug 20, 2015 7:33 pm So we drove past our block today and the house next door has a home group sign up and all the services connected!! It will be great to follow the build and hopefully it means we aren't too far behind! Got all our costings back today but the guys stuffed up the elevation again! So frustrating. We were hoping to sign off on everything this week. Will upload plans once they fix the elevation. Re: HGWA build in Burns Beach 15Sep 15, 2015 8:18 pm Oh and we are getting a stone bath in the ensuite put in after handover as we didn't like home groups bath selection. And "store" is actually bed 4 but it had to be named a store to pass burns beach requirements on having a storage area in the house (we had to maximise the space so we're cheeky, in calling that room a store. Re: HGWA build in Burns Beach 16Sep 15, 2015 9:01 pm Loving recessed bulkhead with lights in the theatre room. Re: HGWA build in Burns Beach 17Sep 15, 2015 9:53 pm Thanks guys- I've forgotten what happens next- do the docs get send to drafting etc and then council approval and prestart? How long does this phase take? Our pre start is literally just choosing colours etc as we did a quick pre start a few weeks back to include it in the costing? How long til site? We are apparently getting fast tracked as the sales rep is a friend and his boss has approved for us to be "fast tracked" am I dreaming for a slab end of nov/early dec??? Mon Re: HGWA build in Burns Beach 19Sep 15, 2015 9:59 pm Hmmmm I really hope they push for it for this yr! I'd love to have a slab this yr! I'm already going crazy! We've spent about 12 weeks getting the floor plan sorted! They were going to certify our plans so once they get submitted to Joondalup- they have to issue a building permit in 10 days- I'm hoping that will help our case- we've been living with my parents for 18months and we both can't take it any longer! Haha Mon This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17588 |
