There's a heap in the skip out the front but not worth lugging all the way to the backyard. Oh well- should have told the brickies yesterday Mon Re: HGWA build Burns Beach- 8 months still no slab 345Jun 15, 2016 8:33 pm I missed out too mon , would have been great, and I did ask! Your build looks very neat and tidy , exciting! Re: HGWA build Burns Beach- 8 months still no slab 346Jun 15, 2016 10:51 pm We put a note in our addenda about leaving the bricks Re: HGWA build Burns Beach- 8 months still no slab 347Jun 21, 2016 12:19 pm I have a question regarding brickwork...is every edge of brick meant to have cement in between? A lot of our internal brickwork only has cement along the long section of brick- but not the short side?? We will be getting a building inspector- but now we are getting a bit paranoid? I'll post a pic as an example. Mon Re: HGWA build Burns Beach- 8 months still no slab 352Jun 21, 2016 8:07 pm Hi Mon, just started following your thread. When i built previously, the house next door was being built by the same builder but the brickwork was not as clean & neat as ours. The site supervisor told us that the grey float actually sticks to the bricks better as there is space for it to 'grip into'. Not sure how true that is, but it sounded plausible at the time. Can't wait to see it finished!!! I'm living vicariously through all of your active builds Re: HGWA build Burns Beach- 8 months still no slab 358Jul 16, 2016 9:00 am We just got back from holiday and have a roof!!! So exciting! All the electrical and plumbing is done too. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We've noticed a huge stuff up in the alfresco. Not sure how it happened but the alfresco doesn't look like a normal ceiling- they've put the eaves on, and looks like the gyprock is just going to be attached to the eaves no idea how this passed drawing but construction manager is looking into it as it totally ruins our outdoor area. I don't know why they made changes!!! It's just another room to me!! Fingers crossed it works out! Mon HGWA build Burns Beach- 8 months still no slab 360Jul 20, 2016 1:52 pm So Homegroup have once again managed to monumentously stuff something up yet again.. We cannot believe it! Instead of having a beautiful alfresco with gyprock and our trio cornice- (which we paid extra for the upgrade) some dumb **** thought we should have a flat alfresco with a Piece of gyprock glued onto the end of our eaves!!!! I have been in tears all weekend- our $350k + build- would you not assume the clients would like an alfresco just Like every single display home of theirs?!?!? Apparently not! I hate home group so much! I misinterpreted the drawing which said "Timber trim" assuming that was the piece of timber that is finished off nicely underneath the brickwork of the alfresco! Nope, it's a **** piece of Covering joining the gyprock to the stupid cement sheets . How this even got passed is beyond me- everybody on this forum has a normal alfresco! Why the hell someone went and changed ours is beyond unbelievable! And they won't even rectify the situation because it's a major structural change and would need to go through the council. So angry right now. Mon This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this.
