Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 21Jul 22, 2015 10:38 pm Didn't realise colours would be difficult but I keep changing my mind and as always costs money lol I'm glad my hubby is leaving colours up to me (thank goodness) or we'll have a blue house lol during the week I'll drop our plan of our home and any ideas are welcome for sure Deleray Clyde North Villawood 22Jul 23, 2015 10:14 pm Hi Niknak
I thought I'd use Carlisle homes visualiser it's so much better then other ones to give you a fair idea what colours Im looking at. So far my grey selection is here, couldn't render all of the first floor though, doesn't give you the option lol so garage and bottom floor of home will be brick, first floor in render still deciding brick or render pillars leaning towards brick though. Brilliant website of Carlisle homes. This is so not our house we are building haha it's a Carlisle home Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 24Jul 24, 2015 3:25 am That looks really good, love it!! I have absolutely no idea what colours for outside. We are going to a few display homes tomorrow to have a look for ideas for few things. Last few days all I've been thinking about is the kitchen and how I want to do the backyard alfresco area. I think we are going to need holidays before we move in. My brain doesn't stop! Deleray Clyde North Villawood 25Jul 24, 2015 5:59 am Yes a holiday is a good idea:-) Glad they are separate our appointments, Be too overwhelming together. First are colours, 2nd tiles and last electrics(thank goodness) that's last. Your neutral colours are a good idea I'm sticking to mostly neutral as well but break it with a bold colour. Never easy but we thought we better start visiting the brick and tile places soon to help us along Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 26Jul 24, 2015 7:34 am I think ours is all in one day. I've picked the brick and roof time but that's it. Front Is all render anyway. I'm still waiting to hear from our contact at Carlisle. We heard from her once after we signed the contract, and that's it. She never replied to my email. No follow up after our colour browse. She better be good or ill be asking for someone else. This is the look I'm going for Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Not sure on carpet yet but that's the brick too, and that's our floor plan Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 27Jul 24, 2015 12:02 pm Wow love your colour selections your plan looks fantastic. I noticed they tend to do th@ as well because we are not urgent yet but yes I would get annoyed if they don't respond either, that's why we gave one the lender specialist the flick for that very reason "unavailable" be on her case always. Is your flooring grey oak? That's a good colour you have and it would blend nicely with neutrals for sure. My colours are similar but timeless grey, I chose a bold colouring to cater for the additional windows I've installed to keep it cooler Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 28Jul 24, 2015 12:10 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is our house plan nice and simple. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is our kitchen we want to achieve I chose to add the window instead of splash back, and it was much cheaper for the window lol Timeless grey will be my wall colour like to take risks can always paint over later haha Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 29Jul 24, 2015 12:39 pm Love it! House is massive!!! Do you have kids to fill it? Window splash back is awesome, love that, can't do that with ours. Would be much easier than picking a colour splash back. Not sure what our flooring is called. I'll check later. But it's all renamed by Carlisle. So I couldn't find it online. Deleray Clyde North Villawood 30Jul 24, 2015 4:31 pm Cool let me know when u do I didn't realise they had lighter floors I must look through the selections again it is very nice we were just getting the standard oak which is too dark. And yes we have three children one of the many reasons we looked to upgrade lol and getting another established home would always be missing something so we thought this time build for the first time. At least it's what we wanted. I love your plan it's very good it's just what you need. We just got a basic plan because we didn't want overkill on living areas, no point in having a room we never use haha Extra bedroom upstairs will be for guest. Splash backs are fantastic too, just was a bonus the kitchen was situated there most are central. Are Carlisle homes good for alterations in the home? When we dealt with Porter every change was an expense or it was in the "put in the too hard basket" but Metricon they try to cater to all your wants and with affordable costs. And believe me we've arranged our plans so many times and still going haha even our consultant said it's the norm Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 31Jul 24, 2015 5:05 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is our plan now. We did more structural changes that would cost a fortune to do in the future, additional windows, replaced doors with cavity ones to create room etc...thought we'd raise ceiling on bottom floor as well Surprisingly everything was in budget, and everything we added we got credited back any difference in price. Something's are ridiculous eg: replacing 2 awning windows with a stacker door in our ensuite we had a savings of 500 on this, they charged us 250 only, so I can only imagine what the cost of the windows were. This is what prompted us to see what else in the house we can trade for a bargain lol Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 32Jul 25, 2015 7:48 am Your floor plan is brilliant. I really like it. Hadn't thought about changes to be honest. I love it the way it is. We added in an extra door to the alfresco like yours. That was about $480 though I would have thought it would be cheaper than a window. And are going to ask how much to extend the alfresco out, but it'll probably be cheaper to do ourselves later. Still can't beleive we have 3 lounge rooms haha. Our current house is about 14 sq but we have 2 lounge rooms. One we never use haha but this house is huge for us. The rumpus will be the toy room. I like that it can be accessed from the hallway so the kids don't have to come through the rest of the house to get to it. (we have an almost 1 year old boy) the formal lounge will probably be the lounge that never gets used. We might put a pool table in there. I'm so excited. But I'm worried I'll be so over it once we actually get the keys that it won't be as exciting haha We went to some displays yesterday and got more ideas. Definitely going the white kitchen and have decided on the white splash back. The floors really make the area though. The bathrooms I'm struggling with. The white laminate tops looked good but the ceaser stone looked even better. But it's $1200 to add for both bathrooms. I think we will add it as first choice but will probably be one of the first things we take off come tender if we are pushing the budget. Saw a house with tiles that look like floorboards, they look amazing!! Going to see how much that would cost as well. Though the floorboards we picked are from category one surprisingly! I want to add sliding door to the hallway and rumpus room but the doorways are really high and open and I think they will end up making them normal sized if we do. Did you have a problem with that? Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 34Jul 25, 2015 9:12 am Good morning NikNak About the sliding doors they do whatever you ask if its within limits. Usually it is standard though and we pay additional costs of them adding extra plaster etc to cater for them both. They usually do the jobs based on height of ceiling. But no harm in asking if they could go higher you never know:-) I see what you want to achieve though I would have done the same hah I love the way the openings are now and I'd wish they just put up the damn sliding door as is lol "if only" Deleray Clyde North Villawood 35Jul 25, 2015 9:23 am Oh and your light render people say be careful with lighter render because mould and dirt are easily seen on them so cleaning is often but I heard they have a sealant for rendered walls that prevents this from happening often I'll enquire about it too. I hear you on bathroom stone though, but days thinking lol we decided to do Caesar stone on bathrooms. (So much easier to clean) and yes it is pricey glad the kitchen standard was Caesar stone. Ensuite cat 1 stone = 690 Bathroom Cat 1 = 276 being smaller. Check because bathroom is always cheaper then ensuite due to size. If 40mm too expensive 20mm is cheaper that's what we decided in. I could live with that price because it's long lasting. It's the damn tiles that make us cringe haha Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 36Jul 26, 2015 7:54 am Yes I was thinking that about the lighter render, even some of the display homes you could already see the dirt etc on them. I think we might look at what doors we could put on after. This is one of the doorways, I don't want to make it smaller. I'll see what they can do though. The sales guy said it would become a standard door size, but I'll ask someone else. Sending off a list of questions today so hopefully I get a reply with everything I want to hear haha Deleray Clyde North Villawood 37Jul 26, 2015 10:19 pm I see what you mean on the doorway looks perfect to me I wouldn't want to change it either surely they have a door that caters that. So best of luck. Yes ask many questions for sure If you don't get a reply turn up instead hah Hope they reply though it's very annoying. We were emailed our new customer coordinators name for our build. Good idea of Metricon we can now view online the progress of our whole build experience, payments we've made, appointments for the future and the stages we're at. This is great, now we don't need to harass them as much lol Hope it's good news you receive:-) Re: Deleray Clyde North Villawood 38Aug 17, 2015 10:35 am Emma, we will be close by!
