View my build thread here: viewtopic.php?t=76776 Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 82Nov 12, 2015 10:40 am Oh really?? Hmm they didn't seem to think it would be an issue... My bank didn't need it to issue me with a cheque to pay the final payment lol maybe it's different for different councils? Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 84Nov 12, 2015 4:23 pm Looking great waynesaw, so excited for you that hand over is tomorrow . Our form 21 was issued by our private inspector through Metricon, council weren't involved as it was a private inspector (thank god GCCC are slow as) roll on the moving and decorating, don't forget we love pics Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 85Nov 12, 2015 4:26 pm Hehehe there will be loads of pics to come Tribe7... Plus we haven't finished landscaping or the pool area so probably a few more weeks are hard slog to go! Can't wait for tomorrow.. I've FINALLY started packing... Kinda hahaha Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 86Nov 12, 2015 4:27 pm I think our form 21 was through the builders inspector too so nothing to do with council as far as I can see. I didnt even need it to get the final cheque from my bank Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 87Nov 13, 2015 1:32 pm And we're done!!!! From start... Site scrape 16/07/2015 to handover 13/11/2015... 17 weeks! Absolutely stoked with our build. Adenbrook homes and our site supervisor Matt Stevenson has done an amazing job, I'm just so pleased with it. We still have a lot to sort out with landscaping and the pool area but that will hopefully be getting underway this afternoon. I'll post some more pics as I take them and as we finish off the outdoor area.. Wayne spent the afternoon moving crusher dust from the front to the back in preparation for concreting next week around the pool and it's looking great! So here are the pics I took today, baring in mind we haven't moved in so some of the rooms are pretty boring looking lol the pics kind of go in order starting at one end and finishing at the other... Enjoy Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 91Nov 14, 2015 7:02 am So we've come back round this morning and some thieving **** has stolen off with our shovel, rake, level and the two camping chairs we had out the back. They've physically removed the pool fencing barrier and thrown it on the ground and stolen our stuff!! So angry right now! Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 92Nov 15, 2015 1:28 am That is disgusting. What scabs. Numerous times when I've been out looking at my build I've gone for a drive around the estate and seen people looking suss and taking things from sites. Last week I saw an old guy in a Corolla loaded with what looked like building materials. It worries me to think of how many people who aren't my tradies have gone onto my block and into my house to scavenge around. I wonder what has been taken. It's tempting to install a security camera but they'd probably take that too. I have to ask my SS about stuff he has left behind for me (tiles and bricks) because I don't know where the stuff goes. Weren't you at your house the night you got the keys (one of your photos looks like it was taken at night)? Did they come back later that night? It's creepy to think they went out back and took stuff from your yard. Was that stuff visible from the street? If not, I wonder how many other properties they entered and stole stuff from. Were they out to take anything not bolted down. Who steals that type of stuff? That really annoys me. It's bad enough some people use the estate as a dumping ground for their rubbish - old toilet, lounges and dirty mattresses. One difference I've notice with our estate is the lack of broken windows (touch wood this doesn't change). A small new estate not far from me in Brisbane constantly had smashed windows and glass sliding doors whenever I drove past it. Just about all the houses had been vandalised like this and some had numerous smashed doors and windows. Now that would peeve me off. As long as I don't find syringes on my property. Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 93Nov 15, 2015 1:35 am On a brighter note, your house looks amazing. I am so jealous that you're able to move in. Your builder did an amazing job, I know who I'd consider building with if I ever build again. Change of subject, have you noticed the amount of tailgaters who drive/speed along the western freeway out to Springfield? I am over it. Driving at 100km and tailgating is shocking. Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 94Nov 15, 2015 7:26 am The house is looking great Waynesaw. As for the theives, that absolutely sucks. Scary to hear that people are up to no good and are not afraid to go on site and pinch things. I think its something thats happening a bit in Springfield Lakes. On Thursday night as i drove past the entrance to the Peninsula, i saw two shady guys loading the boot of there car with the bark that had been piled up on the side of the road by the council. Of all things to steal they are taking bark. Hate to think what else they would willing to do to get there hands on something. But glad to see your almost at the finish line. Im sure that pool area will be the place to be for your family this summer Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 95Nov 15, 2015 7:56 am Thanks guys... Yeah I left about 7.30pm on Friday night and my husband was back at 6.30am so somewhere between there they came round and stole it all. Only thing they left was wheelbarrow and the hose. None of which was visible from the street. it's not the end of the world it's just highly annoying as it meant my husband had to use an old crappy shovel to move the crusher dust until bunnings or masters opened up and he could go buy new ones so was time wasted. They were bare foot as there were footprints all around the coping of the pool, so theyve obviously taken their shoes off cos they didn't want to get covered in mud. But aside from that the house is great!!! Re: About to break ground in Springfield Lakes - The Sanctua 96Nov 20, 2015 1:21 pm Hey peeps, Outdoor area is coming along nicely... Tribe7, I've had Hayden's dad out for the last two mornings laying the framework. It's looking fantastic! Concrete is being poured tomorrow morning! Electrician also coming to install the spotlight in the kitchen and pendant light in the entrance and put up the TV brackets. Opticomm have been back to install it's stuff, all was fine aside from the issue with the aerial being installed and no TV point by the opticomm connections, so had to get the builders electrician back again today to put the TV connection in and feed it down to the opticomm fibre optics so now we have a free aerial lol though in theory it cost is $97 cos we had to pay a failed installation fee after their first attempt.. But all's well that ends well. On the home stretch! Hayden's team of guys did a fantastic job!!! Tribe7 thank you so much for the recommendation. Also had Leigh, from Leigh Bartlett electrical, out this morning to install our TV's and a couple of lights, he also did a fantastic job at a great rate!! AND our blinds arrived!!! Yay! I'm now officially actually excited about moving in!
