No issues with privacy, security. re: tiler - I used Adam Nussio from Nussio tiling (he is on the list of tilers from Life's tiles - richmond) re: concretor - I used David Zagari from Zagari concrete (not the "cheapest" amongst the quotes I received was in the middle range for pricing, some concretor offered to do cash and full exp agg but I didn't want to take the risk as it was a lot of m2 covered) and partly he was recommended and I think he does some work other builders. Don't forget that you will still need to allocate $ for sealing of coloured concrete. Get more quotes, compare, ask for address of their work. http://boostaoakfordsa.wordpress.com Site works: 26/8/14 Trench: 2/9/14 Slab: 8/9/14 Frame: 18/9/14 Bricks: 24/10/14 2nd fix: 24/11/14 Handover: End Feb 2015 Re: First home - Adelaide 9Jul 15, 2015 2:26 pm TomCat, a friend recommended Best Adelaide Tiler (http://www.bestadelaidetilers.com.au/). She has 600 x 600 porcelain tiles in her living room and I have to say, the tiler has done an amazing job with the minimal grout/gap between tiles. I am not at the tiling stage but will definitely check them out when I get there 2015 5 June:Land settled 21 Oct: Planning consent granted 2016 28 Jan: Development approval issued 25 Feb: Foundation prep begins Re: First home - Adelaide 11Jul 18, 2015 8:45 pm Hey s2dttn look what I saw today -- thought it would look good outside my pantry (maybe your kitchen) window. There will be no sun down that side of my house (south). http://i1292.photobucket.com/albums/b572/MandyBarlow/Hotel%20California/photo_zps049dc958.jpg Re: First home - Adelaide 12Jul 18, 2015 9:05 pm TomCat Hey s2dttn look what I saw today -- thought it would look good outside my pantry (maybe your kitchen) window. That side of my house will be close to the good neighbour fence so really need something to jazz up the view without taking up too much space! This could be a good option for my dining room windows also which is next to the kitchen. Would serve your purpose well of jazzing up your view. Thanks Tribe7. I had a look online and they've got some nice designs! Do you know how these would attach to a fence? haha sorry I'm not a very handy person! Re: First home - Adelaide 15Jul 19, 2015 2:03 pm You could screw a baton on to the fence top and bottom to match the back measurements of panel and then screw the panel on to the batons, would make the panel look like its floating in front of the fence. Hope that makes sense. I'm thinking I may have to get these for my home but am concerned that they may end up looking too office-like. Just wondering if anyone has had these and have felt the same after they went in? Re: First home - Adelaide 18Jul 29, 2015 8:38 pm I previously had double rollers I never thought they looked office like. Liked them. First home - Adelaide 19Jul 29, 2015 8:54 pm Love the metal sheet idea outside the window! I might go and take a look at Bunnings - we have two kids' bedrooms with side path/fence views, and i was thinking of ferns... But I like the idea of the metal too. Less work to keep up! Thanks - the first time I saw the double roller blinds were in my workplace. They have these throughout the building which is probably why I keep associating them with offices. haha So it looks like we finally have some movement on site!
