Good idea tiling behind the washing machine! Love the mirror to the bench idea!! Everything is looking so good. We are so close to the end aren't we?! Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - tiling complete 362Jul 05, 2016 8:45 pm Wellard2ndTimers Presidente Hi guys! Just noticed you talking about bevel subways- we have the same ones and just a point I wish I had picked up earlier that might save you- check the "half ends" on your brick bond splash back- yours is the same as ours where some are bevel at the end and some are the cut! That means some cuts are kind of "in" your splash back - you really can barely notice but now I see mine i can't unsee! Hope this makes sense/helps Thanks Presidente, I shall have to have a closer look now. It's a hard one I guess, where to put the cut. I'll have to see how they've done them. Probably neater to have the bevels to the edges? dunno - hadn't noticed so far! Had my closer look today, yes the bevels all match up on the outside, so there is a cut piece within the main area. Probably something for others to consider if you've got lots of small areas like we do. I'm really pleased with the edging and mitred cuts though. Here is in the pantry, I've deliberately taken the photo with the light highlighting the cut. Love the subway tiles. Good idea tiling behind the washing machine! Love the mirror to the bench idea!! Everything is looking so good. We are so close to the end aren't we?! Thanks Mrs MP, yes we are, we had our down lights, power points, light switches and exhaust fans installed today. All the pretty covers still to go on the switches of course. I didn't realise when specified on the addenda to kitchen, WIP etc than it extended to the light switches too! So in our bathroom and ensuite we will have all white light switches. Going to look a bit stupid, I guess we can get them replaced later when we have an electrician fit our pendant lights. I'm a bit upset about it though, I know it's only light switches but like the clear glazing in the WC, we had a specific discussion with the prestart lady about it, so to discover our addenda states something other than what we thought we were getting is rather annoying. I also don't know how they managed it, but this happened to my pantry door handle! Easily replaced fortunately! My CLO is a gem and is getting it fixed up Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Now how are these for a giggle! Wall lights, which of course we will replace pronto. From memory it was about $600 to upgrade the whole house lot. Our CLO is also sorting the white light switches in the kitchen, bathroom, laundry and ensuite (4 total). I'm pleased that all the light switches will now be the darker grey, rather than matching the power points in those rooms. In theory the white power points will blend into the tiles! Your subway tiles are done beautifully...I always wondered how they would do the edges. I'm loving the half-height tiles in the bathroom, I think we only have a skirting tile and wish we had thought to raise the tile height in the toilets. The lights are a crack-up!!!
