Hastily getting on to aggregate quotes, a brickie for our planter boxes (probably can wait) so if anyone knows one willing to do some and preferably with our large stack of leftover bricks! We also need to buy paint, book in our flooring installation, book in the aircon (penciled for week 5-9th Sept) and book in our shutters/blinds install. Lol Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - pre handover boo 466Aug 14, 2016 10:56 pm Went and had a squiz in the windows today, wasn't it a beautiful day? ☀️ We're going to get a great amount of light in the house and garden, but still have a bit of shade when we need it. Have noticed a couple of scratches on window frames/paint not quite as accurate as it could be/mortar not 100% between bricks. Do we worry about it? Take a box of sticky dots (oe 2) with you to mark all the bits you want rectified Building SOR with Dreamstart Homes Customised Dream Dior/Summer Sensation https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83776 Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - pre handover boo 469Aug 15, 2016 12:01 am Your house is looking wonderful. It was an amazing day today! I wonder about how picky to be too. Are you getting a building inspector? We haven't used one at any stage during our build and now I'm wondering if I should book one when we reach PCI stage. I've noticed a lack in mortar in several areas of our brickwork and heaps of scratches on door and window frames too. Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - pre handover boo 470Aug 15, 2016 12:34 am I noticed scratches too on our window frames. Our SS said that they could get them patched and painted but over time the paint fades and makes it look worse. Or some bull crap like that! Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - pre handover boo 471Aug 15, 2016 1:05 am We're not getting a building inspector, we've been on top of every thing right throughout so that side of things is ok. This is what I mean, I could probably get these out with a bit of elbow grease Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ There was a small mortar chip missing near the window frame that they have patched but left this one Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ What I'm not very happy about is this parched chip. Somehow a hole was knocked in the render, they patched it, but it's always been really obvious to me Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our Custom Dale Alcock build in the Village at Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78620 Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - pre handover boo 472Aug 15, 2016 10:50 am All those things you have picked out I would DEFINITELY be pointing out at PCI. Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - pre handover boo 473Aug 15, 2016 11:13 am Everything looks great. Very exciting this bit of the build. We had render patched after a ladder was blown over and chipped it. We can't see the patch at all. So I'm sure they can do it better. Much better to pick things up at PCI as after trades still have to come into your home which can be a pain. Make sure you run your showers for quite a while because it's hard to pick up water leaks. They should be able to patch paintwork so you can't notice bit little dots are a good idea. Also check your exhausts are flumed. Good luck with everything. We love living in our new house. Re: Custom Dale Alcock in Wellard Village - pre handover boo 475Aug 17, 2016 12:13 am One of my final decor updates before I can start actually decorating the house for real... The kitchen... my favourite part of our home! As with everywhere else, we are having oak laminate floors and kitty grey walls; in this room though, we have Polytec Polar White Sheen cabinetry below, with Marni Lini fine grain to the overhead cupboards and wall oven stack, fridge recess and pantry, and my walk in pantry. And I got my Caesarstone Ocean Foam after all that stress of the stone gate saga. Our splash back is white bevelled edge subway tiles. We have a Teknobili Acquerelli sink mixer to the double sink, and a similar one, the Mizu drift Square to the smaller one. I have two Ando pendants in copper/glass from Beacon to be installed also. http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j325/clai_mis/The%20Village%20Manor/K%20WIP%20Selections%20Jpeg.jpg A new kitchen deserves new appliances right? I'm a kitchenaid person when it comes to mixers, and recently bought a matching toaster and kettle. http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j325/clai_mis/The%20Village%20Manor/2fdd04e3a076281d852ab89c58a16729.jpg I also have the Kitchenaid Nespresso Machine and their version of a Thermomix on my shopping list. I love fresh herbs in the kitchen, so will be heading out to bunnings for some coriander, basil and mint soon. I have tried to get various ceramic planters and vases throughout the house, as well as carrying on our acacia wood, marble and copper elements More kitchen decorative stuff, always keeps utensils, oil and salt close to the cooking area, how cute is this mortar and pestle. On my birthday wishlist, hint hint! I picked up this copper basket from Country Road a few months ago as a fruit bowl, I felt like it needed something else as it's quite big and the fruit gets lost in it unless you've got 3 dozen apples. So this ceramic bowl to sit inside it softens the angular wire and copper and I don't need to buy half the spud shed to fill it now. The whole reason behind our kitchen of kitchens, is that I have a high tea catering company that I will be running from home. So in the pantry on my open shelving, I want to display some prettier high tea things. Here is a gorgeous trio from the Miranda Kerr for Royal Albert range; I will also group some white canisters (these are from Kmart but I haven't found any I love yet). I can't wait to purchase some beautiful ceramic flowers from Perth local Artist Bron's Ceramics. I'm going to display them in a small jug, in the same fashion as pictured. Finally I'll need to have my eye on the time with the ovens busy cooking high tea treats, I absolutely love this clock from Marks and Spencer, it is going to be hung on the wall near the dining room end of the kitchen. Can't wait to get in and start decorating! We have a list of 10 items to be completed: Pantry door handle to be replaced (was meant to be done yesterday) Tiny gap between kickboard and waterfall end to be filled Touch up cornice in ensuite One data point not sitting right in frame One down light not working Bathroom fan not working (SS thinks the plugs may have been knocked by insulation men as they were working) Touch up bathroom door paint (tiny chip) Paint flumes on roof Angled piece to go on alfresco slider Front door to be adjusted All but 3 our SS was already on to so happy with that. He has already had the Jason windows guys cancel on him at late notice to do the last 2 items, they are due back on Tuesday. Because of that we are going to have handover on Friday 26th! This gives the bank time to do their thing too. Off to book in our trades now!!
