Bricking started today, I went to check it out and freaked out that they had forgotten to use white mortar but apparently it dries lighter phew haha, I'm sure my sites manager prob thinks I'm mad he busted me doing a drive by today and then again tonight cause I messaged him about the mortar. Re: Building in Northern Tas 70Oct 10, 2015 11:09 am yeah a few houses in our street that are also GJ gardner have the same bricks and one has same bricks and roof so especially wanted the white mortar so it's different to them, I also think it makes the bricks look better with the bricks we have chosen there are a few gaps I can notice down the bottom of the wall ( last pic ) I am guessing they will fill them in is it anything I should be worried about does anyone know? Bricks are porous and absorb water, the water runs down the bricks and out the weep holes, which are above your damp-proof course. Also helps ventilate the wall cavity like livpal said, to prevent mould and mildew.
