Re: Building in Northern Tas 22Sep 02, 2015 11:18 am nat_luke1 Thanks m+hillview that's very exciting that you don't have long to go ! Yeah our contract is 14 weeks so fingers crossed, he did say start would be first week in sept and here we are and I haven't heard anything yet I might email builder tomorrow but I don't want to bug them . Don't be bothered asking them questions. Best thing i learnt from our build was to just ask the question if i had one. If it was the other way around they were always bothering me. Same thing goes for variations.... We always have to pay the variation made to a home so if they make a variation then they should have to explain themselves also Follow our build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77542 Re: Building in Northern Tas 23Sep 02, 2015 9:10 pm Thanks for the advice m+jHillview so many things I've never had to do or think about before and sometimes they aren't very forthcoming with the info. Exciting news - the fences are up around our block and there's a porta loo there and we have a meeting with the site manager tomorrow on site- anyone have any advice for this stage ? Eek can't believe it's so close Re: Building in Northern Tas 24Sep 03, 2015 12:32 pm Had or first site meeting today and the site manager was really great so relieved there! They start digging today and tomorrow then frame up plumbers and extricating will come tomorrow and will frame up for slab on Monday ( weather permitting) and pour it next week sometimes so all go !!! I did mention we were thinking of changing the roof colour back from night sky to monument and he didn't seem the think it would be a problem and encouraged me to go with what I felt we wanted now just to decide what to do !!! Any advice would be great Re: Building in Northern Tas 25Sep 03, 2015 12:37 pm Hey nat_luke1 I really love our monument roof. I felt the night sky was a very dominating strong colour while the monument is just a little bit more neutral and modern. But like your builder says, it's really up to you guys I think either one will work well, they're very similar. And there no variation fee, but the site manager said it's not really a variation so we'll see - here's hoping Re: Building in Northern Tas 32Sep 07, 2015 4:52 pm Good news we can change our roof from night sky to monument so feeling a bit better about it now !! Hopefully I'll be able to post some more interesting pics now that progress is happening so it's just not a thread with me asking silly questions and second guessing all our decisions haha I know so many things you just don't know or even think about and it's so disappointing when you realise you didn't think or get told about something ! Coreescarlett do you have a build thread ? Hi, I am wondering if anyone has built with Montgomery in the last few years on the Northern Beaches? I don't see the see them around, as I would love to ask how happy… 0 3238 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110803 |
