Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 08, 2015 7:00 pm Building in WA with Peter Stannard Homes. We have had our final contract sent to us. We have noticed several additional costs added in comparison to preliminary agreement we signed. Of particular worry is a $3000 odd figure towards increasing an upstairs room by 6.5 sq metres, when we never asked for this increase. We never saw a plan which had a smaller room. Also extra costs for water meter and three phase connection to the tune of $4500 which you would have thought they would have included in a preliminary costing. After all can't have a house without power and water. So dunno why I am being asked to pay that. We haven't signed the contract yet. Still talking to design consultant about these figures. Any suggestions or ideas on talking points would help. Thanks Re: Difference in structural costing between preliminary agr 2Jul 08, 2015 7:03 pm Sounds like someone is confused. Maybe just ask them directly about the additional 6.5m2 and how you never added it. As for three phase power that's not standard so either you asked for it and now you're paying for it or they perhaps have muddled your contract up? Same with an additional water meter. Most houses have one only. Did you ask for another? We found that they sometimes needed to make adjustments after sizing the house go the land ... I'd justify the cost with them as well. Any idea why 3 phase is mandatory? For ducted air conditioning? There maybe should be an additional J1 between TB10 and T12 if… 3 31780 |
