I think the search for the perfect established property is as exciting and interesting as the quest to build. Your journey may lead you to buy a property very different from what you currently picture. I know from your building ideas that you and your partner have impeccable taste. Fitzroy is the quintessential Old Melbourne Town suburb. Even a country lad like me can see the appeal! You can almost imagine horses and carts, and cable trams, and pubs on every corner. If you buy an old place, you will be buying a piece of history. I don't want to put a dampener on your latest plans, but perhaps you shouldn't have gotten rid of your block until you found your perfect Fitzroy house? On the other hand, there's no turning back!
