Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 41Aug 10, 2015 12:02 pm I think our kitchen comes with 3 by default. Fridge, stove and dishwasher. I can see how one would miss the stove one. My hubby has to query about it because he thought the exhaust needs another one. Our current apt is like that. One for exhaust and one for stove and oven. We ended up adding 3 more in the kitchen. It is driving me crazy to only have one in our current apartment at the moment. Good that they are putting in one for you. Lol Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 43Aug 10, 2015 6:43 pm well, you learned along the way. We made mistakes as well. Is your kitchen in? I didnt see it in the timeline. Timeline: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76782 Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 46Aug 10, 2015 7:56 pm Those photos are old we have our stove and range hood and oven in Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 47Aug 10, 2015 10:36 pm You go with the dark theme. Nice. I don't think i can get my hand off the stone benchtop when i see it. You can do the overhead after handover when you have $. Timeline: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76782 Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 48Aug 14, 2015 7:42 am Quick update, I called Ds yesterday and our last trade is booked for 2weeks away... Then ss will have 2 weeks to do a hit list and have things fixed, then it will be our pci (so around 4 weeks away till our pci) and then 14 days till the keys.. Still looking at 6 weeks! Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 49Aug 15, 2015 12:11 am What else are you planning to do after handover? Is it a lot? Timeline: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76782 Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 50Aug 16, 2015 8:42 pm Just painting, downlights and air con. Lights and aircon are being done the day after we get the keys. We want to do splash back in the kitchen. Nothing else really, just smallish things to make it our home Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 51Aug 17, 2015 11:31 am That's a very short list. We have quite a long list......... Timeline: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76782 Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 52Aug 18, 2015 6:17 pm Oh really what do use have planned? They are the main big things but yet we have a lot of little things too but more what we want than what the house needs if that makes sense. Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 53Aug 18, 2015 7:15 pm Ya, it is more like what we want than the house needs. Things that we need to get done immediately are painting, paving, downlight and garden. We have few plants that we need to move from our current garden to there... Did you upgrade a lot of stuff during prestart? Timeline: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76782 Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 54Aug 21, 2015 2:55 pm Yeh we need to do aircon and garden and downlights too. We are excited for the garden, downlights and aircon are family friend are doing straight away... Then we can paint! Nope not upgrades at pre start Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 55Aug 25, 2015 8:40 am Looks great! PCI around the corner woo hoo! Wow that is a really short list of things left to do after handover- lucky you! Unfortunately we had six weeks of no pay unexpectedly and all my plans for our after-handover purchases went out the window. I can live with the cupboard situation at the moment but one thing I cannot STAND is not being able to get the grass in out the back before Spring. Try locating dog poos in sand- they get a sand coating and they just look like sand but then SQUELCH! It ain't sand! Omg. It's never ending! Do you get your front landscaping done by your developer? Keep the pics coming. They're my fave part of these threads. The excitement is contagious! Sorry t hear about not being able to do things I have a list if smaller things, our front got painted yesterday and not a fan on the colour we might have to re paint that too lol!! My partner hates me atm I just keep chucking things at him that I want done. It looks so.different to the little samples!!! maybe it just has to grow on us and maybe it's cos we went completely different to every other house on the street. There all dark roof and light beige or brown.we went monument which is dark and light roof lol Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 58Aug 26, 2015 12:50 pm What color did you end up using for the front? Ours are very brown and light. Lucky you, i try to chuck things for my husband to do but it ends up me doing the job in the end because he just doesn't take the initiative to do it. It drives me nut. I am like his assistance. I do things and then send it over for him to approval. haha. Timeline: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76782 Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 59Aug 26, 2015 12:55 pm Our recent problem is the tiling. It doesn't line up. I know it's not a huge problem but plans show it all lined up. It's just lazy on the tilers behalf. His started in the wrong spot and then just filled in whatever size.. They said they can fix the right side to it lines up but then we will have another small tile at both ends..I said no, it can be fixed correctly but it will mean re doing the whole floor and ledge in the shower. We basically feel like they only mentioned trying to.fix the small spot because cost wise will be nothing but I said no the whole lot can be done but alot of re work, cost and it will delay us. We had a few trades put back the last couple of weeks and everything was smooth this week. So now we either leave it or be delayed. I sent a email this morning asking rochelle to run it past her manager. We have already paid for it, we are always told we don't need to check there work yet we do. Now we are punished because the ss didn't check when the tiler was finished. Now we leave it how it is or we get delayed they wil need to pull it up, re do the screeding and Waterproofing, then re tile and then silicoln. which means our carpets, showerscreens, silicoln etc will all be moved forward till after. Re: Building with Dreamstart Homes perth 60Aug 26, 2015 1:11 pm Sofia that's like us haha he just says we have plenty of time etc I'm like grr ppl were gonna see the house straight away so we have to do the main bits first! I know if we don't get onto it straight away he will say oh I can't be bothered today then u will see me out there with the paint brush LOL 1 4667 2 2984 Ask for references and speak to them.
