Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Balmoral in Sydney 41Jul 16, 2015 6:37 pm Steve, did you get the envy? Doesnt it include an upgrade of the standard AC system? Re: Balmoral in Sydney 42Jul 16, 2015 6:42 pm Yes. We had the envy listed on the contract but the a.c. Unit model wasn't listed in the tender contract. I had to convince three people to confirm. Luckily the estimators confirmed today the daikin 20kw premium inverter model. Phew Re: Balmoral in Sydney 43Jul 16, 2015 6:42 pm In my contract under lux inclusions, the standard AC system's name and model number is listed. So when we got the ugrade, my variation indicated the upgraded AC system name and model number as an item. Re: Balmoral in Sydney 45Jul 16, 2015 8:25 pm That's a big system. Did you strike a deal on a zero interest loan? lock in grid feed rate and X year pay off? It's an interesting concept until the feds cut the rebate Re: Balmoral in Sydney 46Jul 16, 2015 8:45 pm Yes I did 24mos Zero interest rate was very attractive but I still went with the 60mos 2.95% interest for less than $500 difference in interest. It would have been a monthly repayment of 230-ish for 24mos compared to a monthly repayment of 99. Customers shoulder the cost of the bi-directional meter that will measure what you feed in the grid when you are not using the energy the panels generate during sunny days which will help offset the cost of using it at night. They also said they will be introducing battery storage for upto 6kw in 12 mos. my quarterly energy bills are almost x3 during winter and x2 during summer back when it was a 2bedroom fibro house- so i just could imagine how much energy bills we will be paying for a 5bed double storey house. Really hoping i made the right call! Re: Balmoral in Sydney 47Jul 16, 2015 8:55 pm Bring on tesla's awesome battery storage for in homes. I'll bet it becomes a fashionable item in future. Yes, it's not yet available, but its size and potential to be extremely popular will drive down costs. Very cool http://www.teslamotors.com/en_AU/powerwall Re: Balmoral in Sydney 48Jul 18, 2015 2:47 pm Hi I'm trying to prepare for our colour appointment and was hoping someone could tell me the colour laminex surrounding the fridge in the balmoral display home @kellyville. I asked the sales team but was told to ask the colour consultants at my appointment - I would prefer to be more prepared as you only get one chance to make the selections Any help would be great! Thanks Balmoral in Sydney 49Jul 18, 2015 3:08 pm Hi fizzed. Have you got a consultant assigned? Just email them ahead of your meeting Balmoral in Sydney 50Jul 18, 2015 3:35 pm Fizzed, I suggest for you to go to elba kitchen before your colour appointment. You can see their colour range and can take home samples as well. We did that before our colour appointment and brought home selections from Rawson's range. Re: Balmoral in Sydney 52Jul 18, 2015 4:08 pm Abe. Did you check out the build today? Anything exciting happening? Re: Balmoral in Sydney 53Jul 19, 2015 6:06 pm Re: Balmoral in Sydney 54Jul 21, 2015 5:21 pm It's all looking great. You must be so excited things are moving along! Can I ask how wide your island bench is? The display home is 95 but our plans say 81- quite a difference which I'm none too happy about. Re: Balmoral in Sydney 55Jul 21, 2015 5:35 pm Hi fizzed, it's 900w x 2980l for my island bench as per plan. Will measure it this Friday when we inspect the house. Re: Balmoral in Sydney 56Jul 21, 2015 7:22 pm Hi Fizzed, we were told that the display home bench had been widened from the original plan. I think the price supplied in the upgrade sheet (for that house) includes the waterfall edge, 80cm stone and the increased depth. We have added that to our tender request Hope that helps. Kat Re: Balmoral in Sydney 57Jul 21, 2015 7:58 pm Hi Katran, I opted for the upgrade too. If you have done your colours, can you let me know your island benchtop measurements? Thanks! Re: Balmoral in Sydney 58Jul 22, 2015 12:16 am Had a panic attack late last week regarding the colour stain of our Vic Ash stairs. Confirmed that it was clear stain, but since the timber looks naturally pinkish as below: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I sent the picture and called our colour consultant to say that I can't have a pinkish timber stairs. She called my SS to explain and ensure that the stairs will be stained with a colour that will closely match the floor laminate. Keeping my fingers crossed I will not end up with a pinkish timber staircase Re: Balmoral in Sydney 59Jul 22, 2015 12:22 pm Yey! Tilers started their work today. All happy with my island and benchtop measurements. Rectification for major issues complete. Hand rails installed today.
