Browse Forums Building A New House Re: FHBD - The Vista estate, Singleton(PICS ADDED OF SELECTI 82Nov 18, 2015 10:48 pm Thanks jp! Fhbd have generally been pretty good aside from a few small misunderstandings. They did try and charge me an extra $1500 to upgrade to solar hot water when it was a standard inclusion. Lol nice try I should get my final plans tmr so I'll spend half the weekend checking them! Haha Did your friend have anything major stuffed up? Yep he had few issues with them but i hope you dont suffer his issues. They stuffed his house quite badly with plastering on walls. He moved 6 months ago and has already seen chips all over the place. I hope your build goes well. Re: FHBD - The Vista estate, Singleton(PICS ADDED OF SELECTI 84Nov 19, 2015 9:14 pm Ahh ok well fingers crossed! Hopefully it was an isolated incident My build with FHBD viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78344 Re: FHBD - The Vista estate, Singleton(PICS ADDED OF SELECTI 85Nov 22, 2015 9:25 pm Final plans are back! Have made a list of around 10 - 12 items that need to be changed so hopefully they will get these done by mid week and I can then sign off and move into scheduling!! My build with FHBD viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78344 Re: FHBD - The Vista estate, Singleton(PICS ADDED OF SELECTI 86Nov 23, 2015 12:58 pm Awesome! That's a nice big theatre and a huge pantry! Re: FHBD - The Vista estate, Singleton(PICS ADDED OF SELECTI 87Nov 23, 2015 9:17 pm Thanks Macca, those are 2 areas that I'm super excited about! We have a pathetic amount of storage in the kitchen right now so that will be amazing Hoping to get plans back tomorrow. I'm pretty effed off right now though as they drew my alfresco 500mm short despite the PC variation confirming the size and now they wont change it as it means resubmitting to council. Also, despite several conversations, they drew the ensuite shower with a HOB when it was supposed to be an open shower at 0c and now they want $1200 to change it as it means putting a reflux valve in. Not only those things but they also put my shower niche on the wrong wall and refuse to put it under the window with a lintel. Instead they want to charge $1100 to move the whole vanity/shower over and put another leaf of brickwork in!!! I've never heard or seen of another builder doing this but they wont change it due to the structural warranty they offer! Ahhh what a frustrating day My build with FHBD viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78344 Re: FHBD - The Vista estate, Singleton(PICS ADDED OF SELECTI 89Nov 25, 2015 9:25 am Shouldn't they submit to council once you have signed off on final plans? I'm confused as to why they would do that. If you had requested those things, and they didn't do it, then I would definitely be angry! Our builder added in another row of bricks for our recess, but they wouldn't go the full height without charging us a ridiculous amount, so we have ended up with a shelf. I'm trying not to get too upset about things like that because I haven't won lotto yet But I would be annoyed about the alfresco to be honest!! Re: FHBD - The Vista estate, Singleton(PICS ADDED OF SELECTI 90Nov 25, 2015 7:43 pm $300 sounds a lot more reasonable JP! They submitted plans to council once all structural changes had been made but the sales rep told me it would be fine to amend the alfresco to the correct measurements later and put a note on the PC variation to confirm the size and give me "peace of mind"....so much for that! Anyway...I've pushed and pushed and it seems I'm getting nowhere with these things so I've chosen to bury the anger deep deep down inside and move on! hahaha Lets hope for revised final plans and docs tomorrow so we can get this baby going!
