Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 03, 2015 8:43 am Hi, We are first home buyers, were wondering to be entitled to the first home buyer grant. We have bought the land and looking at building now. Do they look at contract price on tender provided by the builder when given to the bank for the loan or is that cost of everything after build including landscaping, drive way and flooring, window covers that might be done after the build. Thanks Re: First home buyers grant? 2Jul 03, 2015 8:51 am Firstly what state are you in? In victoria the first home buyers grant is only available for new dwellings. This is a flat 10k. eligibility is based on whether you qualify as a first home buyer with a home price between $x and $y. This is interpreted as what the value of your contract is. Your first home grant will be paid at the time your slab goes down (approximately). calculation doesnt take into consideration works done after youve moved in.
