Going to have to hire a bobcat when we do the front yard though, the amount of steel and junk buried for the brickies forklift to get traction on when they were unloading is crazy

Your patience has been rewarded Going to have to hire a bobcat when we do the front yard though, the amount of steel and junk buried for the brickies forklift to get traction on when they were unloading is crazy Re: Building Bayside : Our Glendale 45 242Jul 15, 2018 9:01 pm Drew01 Today's site update - we have stairs!!! And the cornices are in, shower screed done, plaster sanded, floors sanded and levelling compound poured throughout the house, electrical cutouts mostly done. Outside, bricking is complete and all of the EPS is installed, pending render. All in all very happy with progress. Today's update - spent 6 hours moving bricks from the front yard to the back yard, as we'd like to keep them for our front fence and permanent vegie garden beds. There's about 9 packs of bricks in excess, about $4000 worth... Got 3 packs left, each takes me about half an hour to move with the rhythm I worked up. My wife can't lift her arms, and I need to get back to it tomorrow morning, as I can't bring myself to let them go to waste. Rendering is completed - there's one window that looks like it's been replaced as it's got no Goop on it anymore. TV antenna is on, although I'm going to see if the sparkies can attach some anti-perch bird spikes to it so our roof doesn't get crapped on all the time. Shower bases are installed upstairs and waterproofing applied, Skirts and all architraves are done, AND... We have cabinetry installed! I spent so much time moving bricks I didn't get a chance to take photos today - that's probably a tomorrow thing Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Building Bayside : Our Glendale 45 245Jul 22, 2018 9:32 pm Drew01 excited_builders Looking great Drew...its truly powering along. I spent so much time moving bricks I didn't get a chance to take photos today - that's probably a tomorrow thing However they are not on palettes so not sure whether we need to get some first and then move it. Also we have to keep it away from where we plan to concrete so that we don't need to move it again! What r u planning on doing for landscaping ? We got one quote for concreting, artificial grass and decking and I nearly fell off my chair!!!! Do u have any landscaping/concreting/decking contacts you can share ? https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t Re: Building Bayside : Our Glendale 45 251Jul 24, 2018 10:14 am We used strips of timber and Gyprock offcuts to stack our bricks on in rows that interlock so they won't fall over. The landscaper I recommend is Chris from Notlee Landscaping. He's done a couple of jobs for people on here who have been very happy with his work. He's also done 3-4 gardens for colleagues of mine who are stoked with his work. Personally, we're going to be doing our own landscaping - I'm relatively handy working with timber, and have laid bricks when I was younger, so once we're in, we'll hire a bobcat for a weekend and I'll clear and level the site, and we'll start marking up. We had to plant certain trees in accordance with a council agreement to clear the block, but aside from that, we've got a blank canvas. We'll get our driveways done in asphalt, hopefully with a paver edge (although the edge may end up being coloured concrete due to cost)... Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Building Bayside : Our Glendale 45 252Jul 27, 2018 9:34 pm Had a little peek inside today - the benchtops were being delivered, and the stone guy let me in Not much has transpired since last week, aside from the scaffolding being taken down, and 7 of the 8 wired power connections for our AC sensors being run in (how they missed one is anyone's guess)... Some pics of the cabinetry are below - not happy with a couple of detail items, so will have to request a walkthrough to bring it up. I also think the butler pantry overhead cabinets are at a different height to the kitchen ones, so will need to measure those And our front door has been delivered!
