Re: Building Bayside : Design Change... 89Oct 07, 2017 10:04 pm WifeofHunza why did Vicsmart take so long.... they are supposed to only take 28days? Once we got what they actually needed, it took a couple of hours given it was a submission already under scrutiny. Had to go and talk to the rental tenants next door tonight as their landlord and agent are useless and never told them that we were building when they took our their lease... Re: Building Bayside : Design Change... 91Oct 08, 2017 7:08 am Just found your old thread again...will follow keenly Colours sound great, hopefully you’ll have a site start soon Re: Building Bayside : Design Change... 92Nov 16, 2017 8:47 pm My monthly update is here - we've got theoretical approval to remove the last tree on our property, on the proviso we plant a mature tree after our build is finished. We've decided on a Corymbia citriodora 'Scentuous' syn. 'Dwarf Pink', or Dwarf Lemon Scented Gum, which we'll have to incorporate into our front yard landscaping. www.specialtytrees.com.au have been fantastic to deal with! We're also pending approval of our planning permit, And finalisation of our variations, floor plans and elevations Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Building Bayside : Design Change... 93Nov 17, 2017 9:14 pm Haven’t had the council knocking on our door yet. We were supposed to put in a tree 2m plus to replace the one we had removed....We’ve recently put in a small Queensland Bottle Tree which will eventually meet their height requirements! Things sound like they are at least moving forward for you Re: Building Bayside : Design Change... 94Dec 18, 2017 9:21 pm Time for our December update! We're still in a holding pattern, waiting for council to finish advertising our building permit, and approve our last tree being removed. Had to cut the grass yesterday, as I felt bad for the neighbours because there were grass and weeds seeds flying all over the place. 3 1/2 hours with our 26" mower, and I have to go back to finish it!! On the house front, we've decided to remove our sink from the island bench, and put it on the side bench under the overheads, as I decided I didn't want to have a sink in the island, as it takes away too much useful bench space. Aside from that, we've deepened the master WIR to 600mm, and picked up that the default Glendale 45 doesn't have a manhole into the garage roof space (we're putting one in the garage, rather than the back of the master WIR where they usually put it) And it looks like we need a new back fence sooner than later, as our current one doesn't look far off falling down Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Building Bayside : Design Change... 95Dec 19, 2017 6:38 am Hey Drew, the waiting part to begin really sucks! Hang in there. And yes meanwhile you have to look after the block. Sounds like a lot of work!! But I’m sure your neighbours will appreciate it and it’s good to keep them on side. We only really had some weeds to deal with before we started which were handled with a whipper snipper and weed killer. Re: Building Bayside : Design Change... 96Jan 09, 2018 8:28 am Woo Hoo!!! Our council dispensations were approved this week - next thing - building permit!! Spent an hour yesterday drilling holes in the tree and pouring a fair bit of Roundup into them to make sure the tree doesn't put suckers all over the place once it's taken down. While I was there, I was also happy to see that our power pit had been installed, but forgot to take a picture (of a round concrete cap in a foot path - LoL) Spent a couple of hours going over our drawings that will be submit for the building permit - at this stage we are hoping to be at site next month! You've already mentioned it. Sue them.
