I have to keep finding excuses to stalk my build LOL! Did they start your flooring today? Wish this rain would take a hike....for good! Yes! They've been laying the bearers and joists. The rain has been annoying though we haven't had a lot of downtime since a heavy week during demolition, it's just enough to be bothersome. It took us so long to decide on an architect/draftie, get plans drawn etc etc. Actually we apent a lot of time looking around at different builders, project etc but we just couldn't get what we wanted for our site. felt like forever but actually our plans were drawn quickly once we made our decision of who to do them and we got our DA in three weeks. He let me come up to have a closer look. That's some great progress. Are you happy with your builder so far?? Re: custom KDR - Newcastle NSW - floor and framing up! 117Sep 06, 2015 4:46 pm Yeah we've been happy with him. He's down the line and to the point. The estimator is easy to communicate with and responds quickly. For example they were happy to change around the bathroom layout on a sketch and just said send it through when ready. They just shoot an email when they need us to pick something with instructions and we go back and forth til it's decided. They were one of only a couple builders who didn't try hard to sell themselves to us and I think that says something. What about you? I think it's so much easier going custom when it comes to things like making changes as you go and being involved in the build. Re: custom KDR - Newcastle NSW - floor and framing up! 118Sep 06, 2015 9:47 pm That is awesome! We are in the same boat. Out builder is super easy with any change we wanted (we have made many) His tradies have been great too. That's then benefit of building with a small builder. Sounds like you will be very happy with your build. Re: custom KDR - Newcastle NSW - floor and framing up! 119Sep 07, 2015 8:44 am Abztronic That is awesome! We are in the same boat.
