I know 3 in my area that he is working on. 3 alone are at frame stage and he's still waiting for the brickies. I really like him. He's straight up, no b.s.. I don't see the point in hollow promises, so I'm glad he's somewhat blunt and to the point. It must be so frustrating when admin guys disappear and they have to forklift a new person in. I'm personally looking forward to seeing your kitchen finished. It's a brilliant design. Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 22Jul 23, 2015 10:22 pm He was a bit chubby when we first met him. I told him it must be the stress dealing with owners like us LOL but agree with you 100% about him, although hubby will slightly disagree. Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 23Jul 30, 2015 2:11 pm Mark has been a busy boy late this week. It's quite funny getting excited about such trivial things. Site fencing. At this stage though, things should be good to get rolling. Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 24Jul 30, 2015 2:13 pm Congrats Steve! It's finally happening Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 26Jul 30, 2015 5:48 pm Steve, SS will be on leave from tomorrow till Monday, but left me an email to say Painters are coming tomorrow to do undercoat, then Gyprockers to do patch up, then painters come back again. Left schedule also for next week. Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 27Jul 30, 2015 6:28 pm Abe, I dropped a thank you message on his mobile. He replied saying if the contractors let him know tomorrow then he'll let me know. How awesome. I'm sure he's earned a day off, but he's still onto it. The lot at the back of our block has just poured concrete this afternoon. Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 31Aug 06, 2015 3:29 pm Nothing today. The contractors are still working on the site at oatlands. I'd say they will roll over to our site after its poured. Who are the team of people behind you from? Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 32Aug 06, 2015 4:30 pm It's Mark's as well. He's put the sign the morning we last saw him. KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 33Aug 07, 2015 6:35 pm Exciting afternoon today. Busy contractors casting the supporting piers for the slab. Might have some plumbers tomorrow.
Seems the only thing we get weekly is a Contractor on Friday afternoon. At this rate it's going to drive me nuts. I spoke with the structural Engineer at RE about my concerns of covering the piers with soil. He assured me that it's not within design specifications. They inspected the piers before pouring and were unaware that additional leveling took place after less than 24 hours pouring the piers. Suffice to say the principal engineer was unimpressed by my report. He assured me that he would speak with the concretors to clear the piers and make sure they are clearly visible before the final inspection prior to slab pour.
I am really surprised that 'contractors' consider this acceptable. I'm not overly concerned about the piers not being completely set, but thoroughly annoyed that they have covered them with clay and fill. This effectively makes the piers useless. Our SS clearly stated he wasn't concerned, as his experts' and contractors know what they're doing, and it's a certified solution so there are no surprises. Really? My beef is with his experts, and they have graciously taken this on. This isn't a SS issue. I'm on his side on this one. I just don't trust them like he does Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) 39Aug 12, 2015 11:57 am Mid week morning update: Form work 50% Front Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Garage side boundary (it's tight down there) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Alfresco looking out to front Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Plumber has delivered some aggregate for the plumbing so we should see some PVC pop up today.
