Which material of shutters did you settle for? PVC or basswood? Were you concerned with PVC emitting toxin's latter due to overheating in Sydney Sun? Or the wood getting wet from condensation? We're up to this point too, and I'm leaning more towards the basswood, but also want to know what other people think? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75739&p=1299716#p1299716 We had the same concerns and found a aussie company that makes shutters from aluminium. The prices weren't too bad either and they come with lifetime warranty. They have a slide option too. Check out Shutters Australia in bella vista. Only aluminium ones are made in OZ. I don't think you'd want to put wood in a bathroom, but rather use pvc or aluminum. Elsewhere, normal moisture throughout the home would not condense on the wood shutters as they are a natural material and typically never colder than other materials in the home. Instead it will condense on glass and aluminum ( If your Windows are aluminum) . The basswood shutters are sealed and painted so no moisture will penetrate anyway. I'd personally steer way clear of pvc. Science is very clear about chemical leeching over time and in a closed environment like a house that would be concerning. Staining of the doors and windows... More still to do on the stairs but i reckon that's something they will leave to the end. Plumbers came back to move the sewer and stormwater pipes that were incorrectly layed in our future pool area. Stegbar also arrived to install the shower screens, but they have forgotten that our ensuite is translucent glass. Yet another delay there. Anyway. Ultimately you want a house you can be happy with and not too much of a bitter taste in the mouth, and it sounds like you've achieved that. Must be a big relief. Now you can get back to being excited about your new home! Let me clear up what the problem was with the kitchen drawers. I'll show you a few pics. Steve, did you specify the dimensions for those drawers in the kitchen when you did your colour selection? If you did, then Rawson/Elba should fix it at no cost. Re: KDR with Rawson Homes - The Edge 39 MKI (Sydney) "Intern 420Aug 08, 2016 8:55 am MorningStar SteveMc Before we move forward on the kitchen issue. Let me clear up what the problem was with the kitchen drawers. I'll show you a few pics. Steve, did you specify the dimensions for those drawers in the kitchen when you did your colour selection? If you did, then Rawson/Elba should fix it at no cost. No. This problem is due to a lack of consultancy with the kitchen manufacturer. The color consultants have no idea, not even a display in the selection centre. The plans do not state the dimensions of each drawer. Whoever drew up the plan should have known better, and why don't Rawson urge clients to design their kitchen with Elba. Don't get me started about who should pay...
