Thanks yes I think thee floor and kitchen work well together. We are happy with most things, really we are even happy with the way that kings have delta with this mortar issue. Not happy we aren't it but at least everyone is dealing in a professional manner. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 742Dec 05, 2016 3:24 pm Far out.. Ive never seen bricks removed from a new house before! So quick and like you cant believe minimal damage!! The new bricks were delivered today and should start Wednesday. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 744Dec 05, 2016 7:04 pm Ryalls ive been following your build with interest! You started after us and like many others will be in well before us! Youe house is looking stunning! I think we were both shocked at how clean a job they did pulling them down obviously tradies that take pride in there work and worksites. We are a little bit nervous about the new bricks on site today. Some of the colours seem very off so may talk to ss about that before any go on. Ill be glad to see the new bricks going on though and weve been told they are using a higher grade sand for our mortar mix to eliminate any problems again Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 745Dec 05, 2016 7:09 pm Did you end getting your new colour choice for the bricks? Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 746Dec 05, 2016 7:22 pm No same brick colour the garage boundary wall didnt come down so it pretty much ruled out asking for a different colour. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 747Dec 05, 2016 7:23 pm Oh bugger that sucks. It is a lovely colour but would have been good to be able to have a last minute 'freak out' change as I call them. I've had a couple of those moments. Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 748Dec 05, 2016 7:36 pm Lol yep we've had a couple of freak out moments too. We dont hate the bricks i like them but it was just a possible opportunity that gets you thinking should we change them Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 749Dec 05, 2016 7:41 pm Lol i love how we differ honey! I dont hate the bricks but i also dont love them and an opportunity to change them would have been amazing but with them keeping the garage boundary wall i didnt want mix match even though you'd never see it i would always know lol Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 750Dec 05, 2016 7:42 pm julia1301 Ryalls ive been following your build with interest! I cant believe your journey has been even longer than ours... This whole building thing is crazy!! We havnt had any big dramas but its so many little things that ive even given up posting on my thread cos its too frustrating lol Looking forward to see the new bricks go up. Did they give you the option of render? Youd think that would be cheaper than re-doing the bricks Any idea of a finish date for your house? _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 751Dec 05, 2016 7:54 pm Haha yep building is a crazy roller coaster journey thats for sure! We all love reading updates but i agree the little frustrating things put a dampner on everything. At the very start they gave us the option to render but we originally took the render off our facade, we figured atleast if we got the bricks right we could always render ourselves later. So we decided to get it right and repoint the mortar.. well that worked.out well didnt it lol hopefully 3rd times a charm and they get it right this time Bricks will be finished before christmas but we wont have brick clean, final touch ups and PCI till end January ?? Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 752Dec 05, 2016 9:17 pm They are hoping to brick clean pre Christmas might not of update you on that one.... Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 753Dec 06, 2016 6:07 am I'm glad to hear that the mortar is gone. Here's hoping for hole-less mortar! surtees They are hoping to brick clean pre Christmas might not of update you on that one.... ^Julia, I feel your pain My partner is poor with updates. He has been inside to see our plumbing and electrical fittings (I haven't). And to rub salt into the wounds, he can't remember anything about it and didn't take photos! Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 754Dec 06, 2016 10:48 am Haha Jaslee I'm glad im not the only one who doesn't get the full updates! To be fair his pretty good but he normally misses one thing lol I make sure he knows everything but maybe that's because I like to talk to much as he often tells me :-p Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 755Dec 06, 2016 11:26 am I think we are all in that boat! My husband can't remember the details of conversations, drives me bonkers because I remember every word for months! He is improving though, this process has taught him to take notes and call me to relay the information straight away! Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 756Dec 06, 2016 11:44 am Hahaha bank i agree i expect a phone call as soon as there is any update lol that way they remember the infomation fresh and i can jump and change anything with a quick phone call back :-p Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 757Dec 06, 2016 11:45 am lol thanks ladies! I normally pass on all details..... Maybe if i could get a word in, Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Our second home-JG King Bricks Down 758Dec 06, 2016 2:32 pm woohoo sand on site too, ready to start tomorrow!
