Basically my husband works with renowned cabinet makers and has become really good friends with them. He really wants to fit our kitchen out (cabinets and appliances) and I know for a fact it will be of excellent quality. So has anyone had experience with tell their builders (we are building with homestart WA) that they want to nominate a trade. I've heard you have a choice to select at least one, as long as they fit into the builders schedule. It is essential that any external trades working on site have relevant licenses, insurances and a construction industry white card. That is what my builder asked for anyway. I then had special conditions written into the contract at contract signing stage that they would allow my electrician to do some pre-wiring for my home theatre. My builder was a smallish builder and therefore fairly flexible.
