I was a little worried about tree roots too, we had our house demolished a few weeks ago and I asked the demolisher if they would do a bit of digging around where we used to have large trees, they did seem to remove some but when I did some "prodding" I discovered many more very fresh and large roots, so I hired a "stump muncher" last weekend and spent they day getting rid of as much as I could. I am still concerned that there may be others further down and that when they start trenching there will be issues, I am just hoping the extra $15,000 we are paying for extra footings will cover this and we won't get a camphor laurel growing though our floor in a few years time!
