Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Hudson Homes 321Sep 01, 2016 9:53 am Oh my god I am about to blow up! Time to vent. We get a call yesterday from colours finalising out order "we can see you chose a freestanding oven but we're sure you want in build" nope - we want the freestanding. AGAIN TODAY! Colours "so you guys have actually signed off on in built". Well no we haven't, you said yesterday we hadn't. My partner made a fuss about it so we had to email it to them in writing. Of course we forwarded our colour selections showing we want a freestanding. Grrrrrrr I'm guessing the cost is higher, they've cut something the wrong size or its unavailable and not in stock Re: Building with Hudson Homes 322Sep 02, 2016 11:45 am Oh thats a bummer.. Always good to have copies of everything, we were given the spectrum book before our appointment and we had marked it but then we missed a couple of minor things in the change over to their copy that we agreed to so that sucked. We have the built in oven but canopy range hood. Our top cabinetry in the kitchen has to be pulled out as they have put handles on the doors but we didn't want handles, so that means there needs to be an overhand at the bottom but then the end panels aren't long enough so they need to pull it all out and change it all over.. Bugger! Re: Building with Hudson Homes 323Sep 12, 2016 8:11 am haven't heard from any of you guys for a while.. Whats happening? Our painting started late last week and lots of the to be done fix ups were done, some need re doing again though. Luckily we picked up a huge issue that the stone delivered for our facade was wrong (tilers fault) so tomorrow the new stuff gets delivered. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 324Sep 13, 2016 8:39 am Our plastering is done - cornices still sitting there though. Wet sealing was there yesterday from what mum has said. Tilers got it wrong and can't get the tile we want in gloss, only matt so we are reselecting our main floor tile. It was due to be ordered for the job 3 weeks ago but we haven't been able to come to a decision since we found out last week. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 325Sep 25, 2016 8:31 am Hey! Any updates from anyone? We have after 3 consults reselected a main floor tile. We have a walk through with the SS Monday morning. He's told us we should get keys the first week of November ? Re: Building with Hudson Homes 326Sep 25, 2016 8:43 am We'd be lucky to have ours by then! Take lots of photos!
We're done with this house now and the whole experience, being treated like we are, constantly kept in the dark, told they won't replace things we've paid for because they "think" it's right! There's an update for you! Keep your wits about you and go hard with all the problems you find Re: Building with Hudson Homes 328Oct 23, 2016 4:54 pm Hi guys how is it going with hudson hones...we are following this closely. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 329Oct 23, 2016 7:50 pm Hey all. It's been a while sorry. So far all really good we had a few more communication issues with Suzy leaving and they tried to give us back to Sandra which we did not allow. All is really well - a few weeks out from finish Re: Building with Hudson Homes 330Oct 24, 2016 4:22 pm lizard94 Hey all. It's been a while sorry. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 331Oct 27, 2016 11:11 am Getting funnier by the day for us... Still not finished, maybe another 3 weeks.. Have done two PCI walk throughs, painters absolutely butchered it, paint if over everything, trades not caring and scratched so much stuff... You need a good supervisor, we did not have a good one... and it has cost us thousands because of it! Re: Building with Hudson Homes 332Oct 27, 2016 4:34 pm 3 more weeks ? Doubt if we should go ahead with Hudson after reading this. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 333Nov 04, 2016 2:25 pm jhiace Getting funnier by the day for us... I'm really sad to hear this, people put so much money of what they little have in some cases to have their dream home treated like this is a disgrace. What area are you developing in? I think I saw some painters there the other week. Are they closer to the finish line? Re: Building with Hudson Homes 339Feb 20, 2017 11:04 am My first home was with Hudson homes.. built it in central coast area
and now building with Clarendon in Sydney. Hudson has a very lay back attitude compare to Clarendon. I find Clarendon home is very professional. with hudson.. u have to call them everytime the client rep I got was pathetic. with Clarendon, I am in middle of construction.. they just completed our frames .. the supervisor is very good. keeps us updated every Friday. so far my experience is very good with Clarendon. While comparing Hudson with Clarendon, the only plus point about Hudson homes is - their Colour selections ( Tiles, vanity, stone bench tops and things) are much better, new and reasonable compared to Clarendon. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 340Feb 20, 2017 11:22 am Hi All, How is everyone going? It's been a long time since am online here I know I am late, just giving a quick short summery .. we moved in our home last May 2016. So far everything is fine. The only major issue we got was with the backyard rainwater drainage. we were getting a lot of water settling in our southwest corner. when informed, Hudson was very quick to send a plumber. However, the plumber dug the whole area and put extra drainage which spoiled my lawn on the southwest corner. after complaining they sent a landscaper who just late one strip of lawn which did not cover the whole area. and was left as it is. a couple of months later the supervisor came for the 90-day inspection. after complaining, they repaired the area by just putting top soil. (by then the lawn spread to the empty area) apart from that. The overall built is very good. I would strongly suggest, not to go with Hudson home for Landscaping. Its not very good compared to the money you pay. Instead, I would suggest you do it from outside or on your own. This way you can also give your own personal touch to your backyard Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74709 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
