Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Hudson Homes 301Aug 02, 2016 5:42 pm Yep! But for us well worth it. We have Suzy who was looking after us during Sandra's holidays. Not sure if you have someone you would like to definately go with but our quote is through Robert Wright who was really well priced. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 302Aug 03, 2016 8:16 am Yeah we had Suzy, didn't have much to do with her while Sandra was away. Robert is going to give us a quote next week hopefully, he did my cousins drive way and her neighbours and did a great job and unless they were fibbing his pricing was very reasonable. We signed off a variation to change our entrance ceiling yesterday. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 304Aug 09, 2016 1:28 pm Don't make the same mistake as us and pay for enclosed if it is not. Goes so quick to that stage huh! They have tiled our alfresco but we had the tiles removed.. odd... Robert had a look at the driveway as did Dan from DNC so will wait and see what the quotes come back at. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 305Aug 09, 2016 7:19 pm I'll have the email them about it as we're not technically locked up? No garage door or front/laundry doors. In the last week we: -have had ducted installed -insulation is nearly fully done -electrical rough ins completed -plumbing done (for now) So we're moving ok but starting to slow down. Gyprocking was meant to start today but they haven't quite finished with the insulation so I guess we will see what happens. That's super weird. Did they mention why they removed them? Re: Building with Hudson Homes 306Aug 10, 2016 10:52 am Have they sent you the invoice? If so then yeah just tell them you will pay it once it actually gets to lock up. We wanted the tiles removed as we are going to deck the alfresco, so we got a $2000 credit for it. And now for some reason they have decided to lay them anyway. What insulation is left to do? The ceiling is only partially done before gyprocking and the rest gets done once completed. Hope your gyprocking is quicker than ours! Re: Building with Hudson Homes 308Aug 19, 2016 2:08 pm Thats very quick! half your luck.. We have given up, can't be bothered with it any more, they are taking so long for anything, we have bench tops, no paint, none of the holes in the walls have been fixed still. We haven't had any updates, were told we would get an update after the construction meeting on Wednesday but still don't have that so i guess we will just wait until they say come do the final inspection and at that point we will know whats been done. Hi jhiace. Is your Hudson in stage 5 next to the Mac jones. If so your retaining looks great. Can you pass on details of who did this for you? Re: Building with Hudson Homes 311Aug 21, 2016 10:58 am jhiace Yes it is, I will send you a pm, where are you building? Wallis creek stage 6 thanks Re: Building with Hudson Homes 312Aug 24, 2016 8:43 am @lizard94I drove past your house yesterday and the gyprock on the inside of the external garage wall has been taken down, what has happened there? Yours is coming along so well, we still don't know what is happening with ours, hopefully we get some form of update this week! Re: Building with Hudson Homes 313Aug 24, 2016 6:58 pm Yeah we are really lucky so far. No clue - we went up on Sunday and noticed it. I assume they missed something? We are missing a few pieces of gyprock still so waiting on that. Cornices are there so I assume that and plastering will be next. Re: Building with Hudson Homes 316Aug 30, 2016 11:26 am We had a walk through this morning with the Construction manager and Supervisor, went well and we got brought up to speed on what has been happening and have been given lots of time frames for things to be completed, practical completion is expected in 4 weeks, then PCI and things fixed so hopefully get keys in about 6 weeks. (4 weeks over contract). Biggest hold up had been painters, but they have scheduled the carpenters to come this thursday and fix up there things internal, then the gyprocker back Friday to re sheet and set the bulk heads etc and then the painters are hoping to start Monday, While the painters are doing the inside they are expecting to get the front eves fixed and ceiling entrance raised so that by the end of the week they can paint the outside. YIPPEE... Re: Building with Hudson Homes 317Aug 30, 2016 12:34 pm That's so exciting! Hopefully it goes smoothly for you. I had a stalk the other day and it's looking great! We have had more gyprock pulled down. Rough ins have been pulled through the gyprock otherwise no changes. Might go have another look this arvo Re: Building with Hudson Homes 320Aug 31, 2016 9:34 am Hahah you say that now!
