Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 21, 2015 8:35 pm Hi Guys, After a sore 16 months wait we are finally getting there. Unfortunately, I noticed a 60mm difference in the garage pelmet. One end is 60mm larger that the other. We can see it clearly when the garage door is closed it looks awful. I don't Know anything about building standards, I guess that is what I hired a builder for. To ensure it was done right, but it doesn't seems to be the case. I wonder if there is anyone readying the forum that know the technical side and the standard tolerances and could clarify it for me. Please have a look at the image below. I really appreciate any thoughts Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thanks Re: Dimensions Tolerance - HELP PLEASE 2Jun 21, 2015 9:31 pm Hi The document at this link is a starting point http://www.vba.vic.gov.au/__data/assets ... s-2015.pdf Although I believe that if you can see it looks wrong . . . then it is wrong. Re: Dimensions Tolerance - HELP PLEASE 3Jun 21, 2015 9:36 pm Hi bashworth, Thanks for your repply. I am trying to find a WA version of that document. I was looking at it though and I am not sure if this is an external door specification or frame. Anyways none of them seem to accept 60mm difference. Re: Dimensions Tolerance - HELP PLEASE 4Jun 22, 2015 4:09 pm I called the garage door manufacturer and turns out the builder ordered a Taped, pelmet. So to me it indicates they knew there was something wrong. It leaves either the roof line or the garage floor. In any case I don't thing a 60mm is considered standard. Part of the reason may be to avoid having a down pipe at the left of the picture. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Dimensions Tolerance - HELP PLEASE 9Jun 22, 2015 6:37 pm Yeh, I am not sure. but 60mm to 80mm is a lot and it looks bad. I will be meeting the supervisor tomorrow, lets see what he says. I am not keen to let this one go, I work hard and I have to do things right at work in order to have a job and get paid. So I won't be happy to give some of my earned money for poor quality job. If I have not choice they will be getting lots of bad posts on Facebook for the rest of the year. I will post an update tomorrow. Cheers i inspect..there is no construction tolerance or building tolerances.
