Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 18, 2015 3:18 pm : Hi Guys, Need some good bad ugly truths please. We're tossing up between Stylemaster get the look 199 with a few minor variations and PlanBuild Peninsula 2160. Can anyone please suggest/provide any information pros and cons of both please and how they compare and what your experience has been like if you have built with either? Thanks so much. This forum has rich information on what to do and what not to do. The building process is very overwhelming process but it is worth it in the end (I promise!) Check http://www.beforeyoubuild.net.au and you might find them useful. Good luck and hang in there! Re: PLease HELP..can't choose.. Overwhelmed to the max :( 4Jun 19, 2015 10:26 pm Lol thanks guys, I'm betting on me being bald by the end of the year Re: PLease HELP..can't choose.. Overwhelmed to the max :( 5Jun 22, 2015 1:04 pm Ok so I have another question. Our builder of choice has basically said they do not allow owner to supply and builder to install appliances. We're stuck between a rock and a hard place. We don't like the ceramic blanco cooktop they are offering and the induction substitute they suggested (Blanco BIC64) has had bad reviews. The other thing is that the price difference in lieu of is $1400?!! which is crazy as the BIC 64 is only worth $1000 roughly and the cooktop is $800 roughly. So my question is. If we keep the standard 600mm electric ceramic cooktop how hard/easy would it be to swap this out to an induction cooktop later? Will this be more costly for electrical? Can it even be done/wired? Cheers, Re: PLease HELP..can't choose.. Overwhelmed to the max :( 6Jun 23, 2015 9:34 am you could always ask them to credit you the appliance cost and not install it at all. If you know the one you want, you can get them to gut the appropriate provision in the bench top and then have somone install it after hand over. Overwhelmed to the max :( 7Jun 23, 2015 1:15 pm If you replace it later you're basically paying for it twice. As suggested, ask them to credit you and install nothing, and just do provisions only. That will save you some cash.
