Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 101Jan 12, 2016 8:29 pm Good news bricks are onsite, they will get sorted soon . Least your meeting the new ss and cm it's good when they are friendly and helpful. Can't wait to see your tiling pics, the relief that it looks good once grouted is massive I panicked about ours too. Hahahhah wouldn't it be nice to work that shift. Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 102Jan 13, 2016 6:25 am Coastalbreeze Thanks MrsJM and Tribe Bricks arrived last week but brickey hasn't been back to put them back up. We just got a new supervisor (number 3 ) so hopefully they haven't forgotten the gaping hole on the side of the house Met the new supervisor and the construction manager yesterday and they seemed like nice helpful people. Tiles finished in ensuite and bathroom. The grouting brought us a sigh of relief as it tied all the tiles together. Pre-grout we were freaking out! Tiler yesterday completed a big chunk of the rest of the house but was a no show today. I think that's his shift, 1 day on 6 off So close but so far Great to see progress! Hopefully it is third time lucky with your SS... Who did you get? Can't wait to see how your palace comes together Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 106Jan 20, 2016 8:46 pm Looks great Coastal..good luck with the handover now Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 108Jan 25, 2016 10:12 am Your pics are looking beautiful coastal, I really like the floor tiles, and the bathrooms look beautiful, such a good idea with the windows in there. Love the colour of your splash back tiles too, so nice to see some colour. Wow not long till hand over that's very exciting. You will be landscaping in no time Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 109Jan 25, 2016 5:05 pm Thanks everyone! Looks like last of the plumbing has been delivered today. Hopefully plumbers later this week then I see you're quite the landscaper now Tribe. Awaiting your advise on where on earth to start Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 110Jan 25, 2016 8:13 pm Ohhh that's exciting, crossing fingers mr plumber man is there Wednesday. Hahahhaha I'm a bit of a bully at the gate, mr t is the strategic one, he made a solid point about our landscaping that we needed to do our retaining and garden beds first as all the dirt is required for them first, once the gardens where in we mulched then got more bloody dirt for leveling and under the turf. In hind sight he was right because if we put our lawn in first we would of waste money ripping it back up to add gardens and trashed it with the wheel barrow and constant dirt and mulch delivers. That way worked well for us, I'm sure which ever way you decide to go coastal it will be right for you guys. Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach - final touches 111Feb 01, 2016 8:08 pm Thanks tribe. Gardens might be on hold for a while. Our driveway and deck are going to cost more than we thought and we were struck by lightning on Saturday night. Tree was split in half, damaged the shed, fence, gate, my car, blew the aircon and modem in the house. Insurance will cover it but the excess will put a dent in things. Plumbing is in, so is most of the electrical just the stove, dishwasher and range hood to go in. A bit of silicone around the mirrors and tiles around the toilet, carpet and site clean up to go. All going well site inspection next Tuesday then handover the following week! Getting very excited!!! Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 112Feb 01, 2016 8:44 pm Holy crap coastal that's scary you had a lightening strike, thank goodness your all safe and your lovely pooch is too. The excess will eat up your plant budget but least your all safe, driveway and decking will be great to go in first anyway, it took us about 5 weeks to start with plants I think, will give you plenty of time to decide on what you really want. Wow your house is motoring along, so little to go now and gosh it's looking beautiful. How exciting that next Tuesday is PCI, be very particular and get your ss to note everything. Such a shame about the lightening Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 113Feb 04, 2016 7:21 pm Thanks tribe. Yeah we are still waiting on the assesors from the insures. Place looks like a bomb went off. Hopefully it does not affect the valuation from the bank next week. House was cleaned today, gosh it made a difference to the appearance of the place. Looks like the bobcat Wong be able to do site clean till next week which may hold things up. I have an A4 list of things. Site supervisor looks like he has picked most of them up. Getting very excited. Ordered security screens, decking and driveway. Just need to find about 20 cubic meters of clean fill. If anyone can help pm me please! Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 114Feb 04, 2016 9:07 pm I would make a call to the bank and let them know all the storm damage is being seen to by the insurance company and its not a issue. Doesn't a clean make a world of difference, can't wait to see the pics. Sounds like a good ss if he is as on to it as you are, exactly the kind of person you want. Ohhh exciting all the ordering has been done you will be a busy bee. Re the fill, call the pool companies in your area and ask them to drop the clean fill off at your place. We did that once and it's free and they deliver it . Another option is to call around as many dirt places and find the best deal, gumtree is good too. We got 14 cubes delivered for $400 it was organic stuff to go under the turf. Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 115Feb 04, 2016 9:33 pm Oh man! Can't believe you got hit by lightning! So sorry. I am interested in your Bobcat though, and why it's called Wong? Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 116Feb 05, 2016 5:40 pm ahhh predictive text about as accurate as a quote for tile insert floor drains Sorry Tribe that's coral in joke Thanks for the suggestions Tribe. Searched gumtree and on earth moving company waiting list ...and contacted pool builders (well Mrs Coastalbreeze1 did ) Will definitely mention to bank that insurance are sorting out damage to shed. The house was clean but the carpet layers have now made a mess toilet cisterns was installed and they used the ensuite toilet then left rubbish, beer bottles around the property. You'd think that with us living on site they'd make the effort to chuck there rubbish Fly screens were installed today and let's just say the quality matches there Windows. Alright need a positive smiley face in here somewhere. It's been a long humid week. The roof insulation was finished today as well Re: Coral Homes slightly modified Longreach 118Feb 05, 2016 5:53 pm Wow love your selections, can I ask which tiles are these? Main floor tile is Heartwood white. I'll look the rest up and get back to you Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13769 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1798 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74700 |
