So after many months of lurking and reading (and learning!) I am finally creating my own thread, as this week we received our plans and contract for signing!
A bit of background – hubby and I have been married for 22 years and raised 5 children, our eldest lives in Tasmania, our third eldest has recently flown the coop needing to be closer to his work and number two son will be moving out early next year as he too is in the process of building his first home in Perth. So by the time our build is complete we will have just two living at home. This build will be our sixth and final home. We have renovated three homes but this will be our first build. We have always wanted a few acres of land and last year found some rural blocks north of Perth that we liked and that were very well priced. In February this year we finally found the block we wanted and purchased 5 acres .
Here are some pics of the block (hopefully this works).
This is facing Northwest (house will face west)
Facing East towards back of block from house location (will view from back of house)

We wanted a house plan that was very similar to the second home we lived in many years ago and decided to go with Ross Squire Homes. We are building a slightly modified version of the Avonview.
Here is the plan as it is now
And our elevation pics
We haven’t changed much other than adding extra space through the middle to make the kitchen, pantry and entrance bigger and made the two end bedrooms the same size to settle any arguments about who got “the bigger room” with our youngest two We have added verandahs all the way around, with one serving as a carport and an Alfresco. We are also going to bring the ensuite and WIR wall forward slightly to make them a little bigger.
I can't wait until we are at the building stage and can see it all start to come together!!
