Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Forever home on 5 acres near Lancelin - Site works start 101Sep 24, 2015 10:30 am [quote="mellianne5"]So far I am impressed all round with RSH and their customer service. There seems to be a real focus on this being "your house and you need to be happy with it". Nothing has been problem and no extra charges for a couple of things we have changed since receiving the final drawings (other than the cost of the change themselves) /quote] Hi Mellianne5 - just started following your build. I'm looking forward to comparing a RSH-built home with our Wonky one! I'm sure yours will go up MUCH quicker! lol I agree so much with the service from RSH. Great local company who know how to make their customers happy! We were really pleasantly surprised with how patient they've been with us. We only ordered the kit to lock up so realistically, they could've dumped it and washed their hand of us but they happily answer our calls and helped with the hundred of inane questions we have - 10 out of 10 for service! The changes you made to the entry/kitchen/pantry are the same as ours too! I never understood why they had they extra doorway through to the kitchen from the formal lounge... (we're calling it our cigar lounge lol) Love all your colour choices too. I know you have to be much more organised for pre-start but it must feel nice to have all those decisions made! I can't get OH to even think about interior colours yet. So far he's told me that the interior design is 'my baby' but then changed every idea I've had... Will keep following with interest Re: Forever home on 5 acres near Lancelin - Site works start 102Oct 14, 2015 10:48 pm Thanks for the comments everyone. All of our site works are now completed and power was connected on Monday so just waiting (impatiently) for the slab to go down which should be anytime now We spent 5 days 'camping' up there last week and was hoping it might have gone down while we there but no Our shed application is finally submitted - that was a bit of an effort but hopefully it is approved soon as we really are hoping to have it up by Christmas. I am a little impatient to see 'something' start happening Re: Forever home on 5 acres near Lancelin - Site works start 103Oct 14, 2015 10:55 pm Quote: I agree so much with the service from RSH. The kitchen design was a bit funny to me as well, seems like a complete waste of space in the kitchen which is why we closed that doorway off. We like that that part of the house is more of the 'adult retreat' area. We have also added a glass door to that part of the house just off the entry so that we can close it off from the main part of the house ... believe me once you have teenagers you need somewhere to escape some times Hope everything is moving along nicely with your build Re: Forever home on 5 acres near Lancelin - Site works start 104Oct 14, 2015 11:33 pm Hi mellianne5 just caught up with your thread love the design and the colours wow!! Looking forward to see it grow Re: Forever home on 5 acres near Lancelin - Site works start 105Nov 06, 2015 3:51 pm Finally something to report... had a text from our builder to let us know our slab has gone down and they have started erecting our wall frames!!! So excited I have been working in Sydney all week, flying back this afternoon and we were heading up tonight, so there will be well and truly something to see. Was beginning to think we would never get to this point! Re: Forever home on 5 acres near Lancelin - Slab down!! 106Nov 06, 2015 5:41 pm Woohoo its finally happening cant wait for pics. Safe travels! What a nice surprise Our building journey viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77582 Re: Forever home on 5 acres near Lancelin - Slab down!! 119Nov 08, 2015 6:14 pm Thanks everyone it was so exciting to go arrive up there and see it all taking shape . It will be two weeks before we are up there again.. that will be hard! We will most likely have windows, roof and maybe walls by then. Got home today and measured our dining table... it will fit with some room to spare. It amazes me how small the spaces feel without the roof and walls on.. I thought it would the other way round and feel closed in with walls and a roof! The one thing that is frustrating us now is that it doesn't look like our shed will be up before Christmas. ANZ got the progress payment to move us into manufacturing, over 12 days ago and it still hasn't gone through. Our broker chased it up last Wednesday and was told it would be in that day .. but not... so not impressed. This really means that it wont get delivered till just before Christmas and I think we will be pushing to get it erected before then We have two weeks off over Christmas and plan to spend it at the block.. looks like we will be camping out! Re: Forever home on 5 acres near Lancelin - Slab down!! 120Nov 08, 2015 7:46 pm If the shed doesn't go up here's hoping for fine camping weather Hi, Have used the Dulux 1 step, oil base on my walls(white set), out of can it’s already a more thinner product than a final coat paint Also in water base Water or… 3 5082 Thanks mate, is there a standard off the shelf type breathable product I can apply DIY?
