We're in a new estate so Im assuming the soil is likely to be pretty consistently prepared. Re: Building with Metricon 6326Oct 07, 2017 6:30 pm blackcat20 SANDYFAN blackcat20 Melbourne, south east. Oh probably I’m doing a knockdown rebuild in an old area Re: Building with Metricon 6327Oct 07, 2017 7:09 pm SANDYFAN blackcat20 We made sure our site costs were fixed, including rocks. Why I was told by my sales that Metricon doesn’t do fixes site cost, especially for rock removal I fixed it with one of the highest slabs you can get. My consultant made sure it was fixed cos I told her with rocks. Then I made sure it was fixed at contract. And we had heaps of rocks. And Metricon didn’t know it. Till we started building. Didn’t show up in the soil test. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Building with Metricon 6328Oct 07, 2017 8:42 pm Hey all Quick question I hope anyone could possibly help with. Building the Chelsea 37, went for Stuido appt's Thu/Fri. The brick we chose is the Murray Grey from Bowral Bricks (Cat 9), my concern is now seeing some of the brick prices in this thread has got me extremely worried. Now fair enough these are retail prices: Cat 1: Around 1400 per 1000 bricks the Murray, whilst Cat 9 is only $1700 per 1000 bricks. Now a standard 1 story home has around 8-9000 bricks, so logic says to me such a upgrade should only be around $3000 at a maximum. (1700-1400 = $300 * 9 = $2700ish) I will be royally miffed if M take off the $1400 per 1000 for the Cat 1 bricks and charge us $1700 per 1000 (i.e. $15K!!!) instead of making us only pay the difference between the 2. Now i appreciate that pricing etc can be different but there is no way they would be paying full retail on these so I really can't make heads or tales on what the outcome might be. If we end up with a $15K quote they might have to be politely told where they can put their bricks... Such a shame that the Cat 1 choices are so..... Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated. Didn’t your color consultant tell the price straight away? Mine did No she said all the externals (i.e. bricks/roof tiling (everything else we chose was already as part of standard)) all had to go back to Drafting to get recalculated. The internals (which is a whole other very long angry story) we could basically get pricing on the spot. You read our minds, we have the same questions. A question that we have, how dark is the room for rooms that have plantations shutters? We got quoted 22k for the bottom story excluding the front which is rendered cat 9 Yeah which is what concerns me, it certainly seems like M is charging the full value of the bricks as opposed to crediting the original Cat 1 off and only charging the difference between them. Not sure if Bowral was supposed to give us the retail pricing list but it certainly doesn't help M's position (least in my view). Considering the Cat 1's brick cost is already 'baked' into the price of the house, to charge full value on the new ones and not crediting off the old is basically double dipping. Re: Building with Metricon 6336Oct 09, 2017 5:59 pm Does any have a photo of the kitchen cabinets with the LEDs light underneath? Looking for some photo of that it will look like inside the cabinets and how the power cabling comes together? Looking for some photo of that it will look like inside the cabinets and how the power cabling comes together? If they're installed like Rawsons, when you open the cupboard the bottom shelf will look like it's been doubled up. You won't see any wiring or the light itself. If you lift the top layer you'll probably have access to the light and wiring. Thx Thought I replied to this this morning.. Get both. Depends how sensitive you are to light, but both is really a necessity. In the master we're getting a sheer to soften the look. Zooch, we paid $2.7k to upgrade from cat 2 to cat 7 bricks, but in the Signature range of home. Not sure if that makes a difference.
