thanks!

We've currently got temporary doors installed if that's what you mean? Normal for lockup stage Hi Drew, What I ment is, we were cheap to do the 4 panel doors thru metricon, and was wondering if SM/SS would install a door that we provide instead of the one that M provides? thanks! You may find he/she doesn't want to, due to it not being what's on your bill of materials. We have accepted our quote last week and the salesman said that although there is a cost for the double glazing in the quote it may eventually become free when they write up the contract because of the 6-star standard. Did your double glazing cost get zeroed out at contract or perhaps did it get massively reduced in order for M to comply with the 6-star standard? Re: Building with Metricon 7508Jul 21, 2018 10:47 pm reaver blackcat20 No, double glazing did not become free. Did the price change at contract or did it stay similar to what was quoted? Nothing given for free in this regard. Not sure how applied to us, we paid DG through our the house. The best approach we were told is to get M to calculate for the 6 star rating, they will have to add in double glazing to archive that 6 star. Then you add double glazing to the outstanding windows. From what I understand the builder is supposed to bear the cost to meet the 6-star standard. I guess we'll see at contract. The sales consultant suggested it to us but we didn't compare the difference Re: Building with Metricon 7514Jul 22, 2018 10:54 am The cost of achieving 6-star is on the person paying the bill.... 6-stars is the requirement for a certificate of occupancy, and ultimately it's your home, not the builders. We have always been trying to get close as possible to 7-star. Double glazing is cheap in comparison to other ways of improving the efficiency of a home. We double glazed, upgraded insulation, installed sarking under our Colorbond roof, will use water tanks for the garden using captured water, a lot of solar power and eventually battery storage (when it makes financial sense - currently it doesn't unless you're selling it) They design the homes to be 6-star compliant, so achieving it is relatively easy, but they do give you cost options, such as double glazing to improve your home as a whole to achieve it Our Bayside KDR Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78298 Re: Building with Metricon 7515Jul 22, 2018 11:05 am Drew01 The cost of achieving 6-star is on the person paying the bill.... 6-stars is the requirement for a certificate of occupancy, and ultimately it's your home, not the builders. But I think you guys will be interested in this. It’s suppose to save you on energy cost. Apparently it’s only about $5000 to do. I don’t know if size of the house makes it cost more. But we are thinking of looking into this. https://www.foam-insulation.com.au/roof-insulation/ viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Building with Metricon 7518Jul 22, 2018 11:01 pm Doulton777 Guys I know this is off topic.
