Waiting for another sale so I can get a second one, so we have one for upstairs and downstairs I got us a Xiaomi Roborock S50, which runs about $560 normally via Gearbite on eBay, but I got it on a deal with eBay Plus for $460-odd delivered. Ours also tied into our home automation, so we can tell it to go and vacuum a single room or area, which is handy for doing a dirt or leaf pickup Also has anyone done security camera wiring and units package outside of M . We plan to take 5 camera's with a hard drive that expands to 8 and was wondering what a reasonable price would be for this. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=ht ... are_type=t Re: Building with Metricon 8004Oct 12, 2018 7:27 am excited_builders Drew01 excited_builders [quote="Drew01"]Get yourself a robot vacuum cleaner... He came back and told us that he couldn't find them as well, probably knocked out during construction. He asked us to do our own re-survey. We have booked our fencing to go in on 29th this month and maybe too rush to do another survey. Has anyone experienced that? We are not in Melbourne so it will be hard for us to go down there to find ourselves. Our Site Manager just told us to get it re-survey and what else can we say? 😓 Re: Building with Metricon 8011Oct 12, 2018 11:59 am To all those who have finished their build, has anyone done security camera wiring and units package outside of M . We are doing a KDR inner northern melbourne. Our site costs are over 88k. The slab upgrade component is only 40k of that, the rest of it is: Site Cut & Fill in lieu of standard scrape - 8k OH&S Requirements (overhead powerlines at the front, traffic management, etc...) - 17k Council/Developers/Authorities and Rescode Requirements... - 13k Rock removal (provisional) - 3k Permit to work (provisional) - 3k Underground power pit - 7k I know every site is different, and I haven't mentioned the slab design, but this seems high to me. The slab is also only 85mm and 20mpa concrete. Even though this is common standard, my builder mate says that decent quality slabs are at least 100mm and 25mpa and the site costs seem high. Would appreciate anyone's feedback on what they think about the costs compared to their own experience cheers Re: Building with Metricon 8014Oct 15, 2018 9:11 pm madj-m We just got our preliminary site costs in (P class H2 soil, highly reactive). Re: Building with Metricon 8015Oct 16, 2018 9:25 pm dany Wild Sometime M provides Misleading information, I was told at initial deposit stage that once soil and survey tests are completed then I will have the fixed site costs, these were completed a month ago and now M cannot provide fix site costs and added as provisional, allocated consultant is useless and never return call on the said matter and doesn't have an answer. Hi , we didn't approve any provisional allowance for the slab. The only area where there was doubt was if rocks will be found at the time of excavation . We didn't want to sign with this and insisted this to be determined in advance. When we got the soil test done no rocks were found at the level of boring. So in my opinion don't accept the variation for slab upgrade they should know in advance. Hi Dany, Post soil + survey tests, did M provide you with the fixed site costs ? Using Intelligent Security Concepts drew01 Since you're doing a KDR, are you getting internet via Cable, ADSL or Fiber? I was wondering what the process is nowadays when it comes to trenching and getting a leadin. Do you call up a Telstra certified contractor to do the trenching and then when its ready does a Telstra technician come out to run the cable into the house? We've got FTTC, so HFC (cable) overhead service. Metricon put in a PVC run when they did the trenching for the three phase, however it's been broken off near to the house in our instance, so they need to find it. The RG6 has two runs to the outside of the house, as well as provision for a satellite dish for TV (not that we'll ever get it)... Also has CAT5 for provisioning of the phone line into the study. My understanding wth Telstra is you put in an order and they do any required street work. In our case, it will be a bundle relocation, as they don't have as good a deal as we're on anymore, and I've already relocated it twice! Hi Drew01, A quick heads up if your house is to be served by FTTC then the Internet connection will come in via copper phone line not HFC. You will receive a device from NBNco called a Network Connection Device (NCD). The NCD will be connected to your phone line and provide power to the FTTC device installed in the telecommunications pit outside your house. Your router will then connect to the NCD. Re: Building with Metricon 8020Oct 17, 2018 4:00 pm Nope, I've already had it confirmed we'll be on HFC. Most of my old team now work for NBN Co...
